Description of 32528 Technic Panel Fairing 6#
Posted by: Jaco van der Molen - 2019-03-29, 7:06 - Forum: Parts Tracker Discussion - Replies (4)

Hi all,

The description of 32528 Technic Panel Fairing 6# seems wrong.
Whereas all identification numbers of panels start with the hashtag, this one precedes it.

Should be Technic Panel Fairing #6?

Jaco

  !CMDLINE
Posted by: Damien Roux - 2019-03-27, 0:08 - Forum: Official File Specifications/Standards - Replies (10)

Hi there,

I've recently discovered that some parts have a !CMDLINE c{color} statement.

Can someone explain the utility of this?
Should it also be added systematicaly to any parts that is supposed to have been made in only one color (like set specific patterned parts)? What if for some reason a patterned parts is reissued in a some time with another color? How should we keep track on that?

Thanks.

  Problem editing a post
Posted by: Damien Roux - 2019-03-25, 20:32 - Forum: Website Suggestions/Requests/Discussion - Replies (2)

Hello,

I've faced a problem while trying to replace an attached file by another one in a forum post : here.
Apparently, when into the "Full Edit" mode, one cannot "Remove" an attached file (the button wasn't working with me).

While waiting for a bug fix, may an admin delete the attached file "41492 - Captain America & Iron Man.mpd"

Thanks a lot,

Damien.

  Math help
Posted by: Orion Pobursky - 2019-03-24, 19:06 - Forum: Help - Replies (4)

Forgive me for such a basic question but I'm having issues and my Google-fu is failing me.

I have a line segment from P1 to P2

Assuming that the origin is P1, I can get the spherical coordinates (r, theta, phi) of line segment but I can't seem to figure out how to go from that to a rotation matrix. Any help, even in the form of a link to a explanation, would be appreciated

  Broken colour config page.
Posted by: Magnus Forsberg - 2019-03-23, 11:01 - Forum: Website Suggestions/Requests/Discussion - Replies (6)

Hello,

Something is very wrong on this page:
http://www.ldraw.org/article/547.html

Some of the characteristics seam to trickle down to the colours lower down in the list.
Luminace, on to glitter, speckle, rubber, common
rubber, on to common
metal, on to milky

But the downloadable files seam fine.

  MPDcenter VS Lsynth problem
Posted by: Greg998 - 2019-03-22, 23:00 - Forum: All Other Programs. - Replies (7)

Hi everybody Smile

I encounter a slight issue with MPDcenter since the last update (Version 2.5.0.0).

When i create an .LDR file from MPD file at a library level, all the parts created with Lsynth not being in the main file are relocated in a random way.
I have then to relocate then manualy. It didn't occur with previous versions of MPDcenter.

Is it a known issue? Is there a fix?

Thanks by advance for your input.

  Gaps/overlap in part fit up
Posted by: Orion Pobursky - 2019-03-21, 22:44 - Forum: General LDraw.org Discussion - Replies (5)

Sometimes due to the nature of plastic parts, when a real life model is translated into a computer model there may be some discrepencies in part fit up. This is especially true of Technic models where the complicated angles can lead to shortfalls/excesses of 4-5 ldu. While I'm willing to live with a difference of fractions of an ldu up to 1-2 ldu, when I hit the 4-5 range I become dissatisfied. I'm just curious how other authors deal with gaps or overlap in parts when building models.

Posted by: Steffen Altenburg - 2019-03-21, 14:55 - Forum: Official Models - Replies (4)

Hi,

I have several City models flying around which I have done over the years (all need some tweaks for OMR compliance etc.), so more to come.
As a start 4432 - Garbage Truck.
OMR compliant: yes
Known errors: No stickers, no minifigs

Cheers,
Steffen
