43722 & 43723 |

Hi
I am relatively new to this, so I may have just failed to find these parts, but I don't seem to be able to find 43722 (Right Plate 2x3 with Angle) or 43723 (Left Plate 2x3 with Angle). I've tried looking under "without corner" as that seems to be the convention in the library, but no joy.
If anyone has the time, could they either point out my mistake or create these parts for me?
Thanks
James

Hey guys, I've been a member here for about a week now and still can't access my private messages. It says:
Quote:You do not have permission to access this page. This could be because of one of the following reasons:
- Your account has either been suspended or you have been banned from accessing this resource.
- You do not have permission to access this page. Are you trying to access administrative pages or a resource that you shouldn't be? Check in the forum rules that you are allowed to perform this action.
- Your account may still be awaiting activation or moderation. (Resend Activation Code)
- You have accessed this page directly rather than using appropriate forms or link.
any ideas as to why?
Just to rule out the obvious, while it is that I had some trouble with it I am pretty sure I have activated my account, I mean I can post after all.

Why are decals/printed images done the way they are??? |

Having done a fair amount of cg modeling and animating I've extracted a few lego pieces for use in programs I'm more familiar with. These things have some of the most insane meshes I've ever seen and the details on them (faces, words, printed designs etc...) are actual models, floating off the main model instead of being a simple texture.
Why??? wouldn't it be easier to have them be a texture with a black and white transparency map that tells the computer which parts to not re-color when you select a new color?
Obviously it all works, Ldraw is an amazing program and its part authors are damn hard workers but I want to understand why this route was taken.

Edit*
This post was sorely missing an important detail: Thank you to anyone who can help in anyway, as a 3d modeler I have a good idea of what I am asking. I only feel marginally comfortable doing it because I'm on a site of extreme enthusiasts. Having grown up through the 90's I feel like these sets are some of LEGOs finest and a bit of a must for people who can no longer reasonably find these pieces. Again, thank you, to everyone whose made this program or added to it. I've had Ldraw for less than 48 hours now and have already made; UFO mini figure officer (with custom gun) and 2847 UFO Flyer, 6915 Warp Wing Fighter and currently I am 1/3rd through 6979 Star Fighter.
*Edit
Hello, I'm Endianprime and I'm very excited about Ldraw. To that end, some of my favorite sets are missing a few key parts or decals. I do 3d modeling myself but I work in Zbrush and mostly do organic shapes. CAD is about as far from what I do as you can get, still in the future I may look into part editing but smaller steps for now.
sorry about the lack of a real name. I did see it was tradition but online I only have one name.
I have read the request guidelines, researched the requested parts on the appropriate sites and verified that they are not in production or being requested (with one exception, see below).
Part request quick description
I am making a request for 3 insectoid parts, the 2 larger wings and the stinger (part numbers given below).
I am also requesting decals for the following: Insectoid: 2 small wings, Stingray: quarter saucer, UFO: 1x2 circuit board (also used in star wars millennium falcon)
Detailed Description
Part Number Description
Insectoid:
x239 Electric Light & Sound Unit Insectoids, Insectoid Stinger Complete Assembly 4 x 20 x 5

Edit*
I seriously just found the UFO decal part I was asking for, its been renamed from: 3069bpx32 to: 3069bp51.
I had done a tone of searching for it, by part number, description, online and in Ldraw (LDcad). Anyways, you can ignore the missing UFO decal listed below

[LDPartEditor] 0.8.31 Beta Released (!LPE VERTEX / Usability / bugfix) |

Hello,
I fixed ten issues within the last week, so... here is a new release
As always, you can download LDPE from this page:
http://nilsschmidt1337.github.io/ldparteditor/
Changelog:
(6 new features and 4 bug fixes)
With this release you will be able to...
- ...delete a !LPE VERTEX without "Move Adjacent Data" being on.
- ...see the selection of !LPE VERTEX meta commands (3D -> text).
- ..."Show Selection In 3D View" of a !LPE VERTEX line in text editor.
- ..."Show Selection In Text Editor" of a !LPE VERTEX line in 3D view.
- ...add a !HISTORY line quickly in the text editor (with Ctrl+H).
- ...add a !KEYWORDS line quickly in the text editor (with Ctrl+K).
The following critical issues were fixed:
- YTruder accidentally deleted the selected lines.
- YTruder was not able to do symmetry or projection on planes with value=0
- Toggle comment / !TEXMAP freezed the text editor on empty lines.
- SyncEdit did not mark the !LPE VERTEX meta command.
What will the next release 0.8.32 deliver? Bug fixes, more header validation features, usability improvements...
The program was tested intensively with "real world" files.
However, it is still a beta version and something can go wrong in about 100.000 lines of code.
Make sure that you choose the right architecture for your OS and Java Virtual Machine (JVM) (64bit or 32bit).
A short guide how to check if a 64bit JVM is installed on your system is located at the bottom of this message.
- Download the zip-Archive
- Extract the archive content to the location of your choice
- On windows, double-click "run.bat" to start LDPE.
- On linux, you have to excecute the shell script "run.sh" to start LDPE.
Please note that this software is in the beta stage. Although, this version was tested, there are already known issues for this release. There is a potential risk of data loss.
You can search for updates if you do the following steps:
- On windows, double-click "update.bat" to search for updates.
- On linux, you have to excecute the shell script "update.sh".
I listen carefully to your requests and possible complaints. Please leave me a message, with your thoughts and wishes to further improve the software.
LDPE is a 3D CAD application: The overall system requirements are higher. While I recommend to use a powerful 64-bit multicore system, it could be possible, to run LDPE on older machines as well.
System Requirements:
Minimum System Requirements:
- 64-bit Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.8
- OpenGL 2.1 compatible Graphics Card
- Operating System (64-bit): Windows [7 or newer], Linux [e.g. Ubuntu Linux >=14.4]
- CPU: Multicore-Processor e.g. Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon II (>2.0Ghz)
- RAM: 4GB
- Video-Memory: 1 GB
- Free Disk Space: 100 MB
Recommended Requirements:
- Operating System (64bit): Windows 7,8,10, Linux [e.g. Ubuntu Linux >=14.4]
- OpenGL 3.3 compatible Graphics Card
- CPU: Multicore-Processor with 4 cores (or more)
- RAM: >4 GB
- Video-Memory: >1 GB
- Free Disk Space: 512 MB
- For a faster start, LDPartEditor and the LDraw™ library should be installed on a SSD.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to check your JVM version (32- or 64-bit):
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can try on the command line:
If it's not a 64-bit version, you'll get a message that looks like:
This Java instance does not support a 64-bit JVM. Please install the desired version.
