Posted by: Jaco van der Molen - 2020-07-22, 13:43 - Forum: Part Requests - Replies (1)

Hi all,

I am in need of 27965 Cable flexible 22L with 2 Bar connectors to be made as a template so I can model in LDCad.

Does it exist or can someone make it, please?

Thanks!

TEXMAP addition to Official Library Spec
Posted by: Orion Pobursky - 2020-07-21, 21:38 - Forum: Official File Specifications/Standards - Replies (23)

I proposed the following addition to the Official Library Spec to go with the proposed rev the !TEXMAP meta:

Under META Commands add:

!TEXMAP Meta
The !TEXMAP NEXT command or geometry2 lines (as outlined in the Texture Mapping (!TEXMAP) Language Extension) will not be used.

Sufficient !TEXMAP FALLBACK geometry3 lines must be included such that the part renders correctly in non-!TEXMAP supporting programs. It is highly encouraged that the included fallback geometry reflect the pattern created by the !TEXMAP, even if it is reduced in resolution or colors, but this is not required.

Orion,

apparently you reorganized the side bars of the page. Where shall I look for 'cos this "Table of Contents" is broken:

  LDraw.org Official Parts Library Specifications
Posted by: Philippe Hurbain - 2020-07-18, 10:10 - Forum: Official File Specifications/Standards - Replies (1)

There is a slight ambiguity here:

Quote:Filenames must not be longer than 25 characters (including the extension) and must only contain the following characters:
a-z, 0-9, _,-
Is the . before extension included or not in the 25 characters? And obviously that . is allowed only for extension marking.
Since the extension is .dat anyway we could factor it out...

Quote:Overlapping and Intersecting Line Types
For clarity purpose, it might be interesting to mention that edge overlapping a primitive condline is alliowed, as well as condline overlapping a primitive condline on the end ("complementary condline)

Quote:These parts are typically modelled as a series of discrete part pieces that are then "formed" to simulate curvature. This places them in the shortcut category, and their descriptions will follow the rules outlined for shortcuts (i.e. use of the "~" character).
Flexible part fall into "shortcuts with moving parts" so generally the segment parts shouldn't use the "~" character.

  Links broken in Documentation menu

Following the update of the website to include new ratified documentation two menu items redirect to a 404 error page

"Official Library Specification for Sticker Parts" redirect to https://www.ldraw.org/article/339.html

"Parts numbering scheme for parts with unknown numbers" redirect to https://www.ldraw.org/article/562.html

L3P -check page revised and renamed
Posted by: Orion Pobursky - 2020-07-18, 5:03 - Forum: Parts Authoring - Replies (2)

I've updated the former "L3P -check Messages" page on the PT to use the new chart we developed at the Billund Meeting. This page has been renamed to "Common Error Check Messages" and the table is sortable. For legacy purposes, the URL (https://www.ldraw.org/library/tracker/ref/l3pmsg/) will remain the same until I move the entire PT reference section (Prim Ref excluded) to the main site.
