| Recommended Digital Calipers for measuring parts (+ rare Clutch Test Implements.) |

I recently got my hands on some rare parts which are used to test LEGO parts. They are described in the middle of an article on New Elementary as "Clutch Test Implements". In my case, I have four of these parts in my hands:
- Stud testing part
- Small Towball testing part
- Large towball testing part
- Bar/clip testing part.
The first three have 5-digit part ID's, and the fourth one does not. They are in a mix of uncolored ABS, Green/Dark Green ABS, and Trans-clear. Since they have Part ID's, I was willing to make the required measurements to allow them to be added to LDraw Parts Library.
A few questions:
1) Can someone recommend a modest-priced pair of digital calipers that work well in measuring LEGO parts? (ex: Are the Harbor Freight ones good enough?)
2) Are unreleased parts allowed in the LDraw Parts Library?
3) Are there tips to take the best and mot accurate measurements?
Thanks,
---tom

I'm having a hard time installing the parts library on my computer. The parts list in the getting started wiki is no longer there. I am running 64 bit Bodhi Linux on my computer, its based on Ubuntu. Trying to get LeoCAD to work.

Hi everyone. I'm new at LDCad. I couldn't find the piece that numbered as 39367 ( SPIKE Prime Core Set azure/black wheel ) in the part library. I add unofficial part library to Ldcad. I started to see some new parts in the library labeled as "unOff" after this. But still couldn't find 39367. I finished all model except this part. Is there any way to add this part to LDcad? Thank you so much.

| Duplo! (61649 2x4x3 Door Frame, 98225 2x2x2 Round, etc...) |

I'm actually updating my LEGO Brick Labels to include the most common DUPLO bricks. I was surprised to see that 61649, the current design of the 2x4x3 Door Frame is not in LDraw. This led me to updating my Most Common LEGO Parts database to output the Most Common DUPLO parts instead.
If you click on the Most Common DUPLO parts article, you will find that very many of the parts are missing photos (because photos are exported from LDraw using a custom script). This includes parts in the top 20 list!
This suggests that DUPLO has not been a priority for the LDraw community recently, especially given how many fewer DUPLO pieces there are compared to the barrage of one-off pieces added to the LEGO system in recent years (especially in the Collectible Minifigures series.)
Missing Common DUPLO Parts:
Is there anyone working on, or interested in working on improved DUPLO coverage? If so, my Most Common DUPLO parts article may help decide which parts to tackle first.
thanks,
---tom
