  Part 35252
Posted by: Orion Pobursky - 2020-02-06, 5:33 - Forum: Parts Tracker Discussion - Replies (1)

Is part 35252 an alias to LDraw part 30292b or is there a difference? I can't tell and I don't have access to either part.

Add new sub-model from hard drive in LeoCAD?
Posted by: Michael Horvath - 2020-02-05, 21:39 - Forum: LDraw Editors and Viewers - No Replies

Can anyone tell me how to add a new sub-model from disk in LeoCAD? I don't see such an option in the menu anywhere. Thanks.

  Technic 8854 Power Crane
Posted by: Stefan Frenz - 2020-02-04, 11:16 - Forum: Official Models - Replies (6)

Hi there,

next model I'd like to contribute is 8854 Power Crane of 1989.

Done with LDCad 1.6c (Linux64).
Known issues: none.

The file should be OMR compliant, but it is very large - the rope and pneumatic hoses are very expensive in terms of LDraw-lines.
Please see the updated versions below, this one here is kept for discussion history reasons only.

As always all suggestions are warmly welcome.

Best regards
Stefan

Video LDraw tools as part of a hybrid Lego stop motion animation
Posted by: Carruthers - 2020-02-03, 1:51 - Forum: General LDraw.org Discussion - Replies (3)

Hi there - apologies if this is an inappropriate place to post this.  I’ve gotten a lot out of the LDraw tools, and appreciate all the work you all have put in to them.

I recently published a video where I highlight how I used LeoCAD, the parts library, and POVRay to help me create a Lego stop motion movie.  Consider checking it out:

Thanks again, and keep up the good work!

Nick

Is there a tool that can sort or group parts based on their position coordinates? Thanks.

  Stud.io list of color IDs
Posted by: Mika - 2020-02-02, 20:56 - Forum: LDraw File Processing and Conversion - Replies (3)

Hello there! My very first post here Smile

I'm completely new to all of this stuff so I'm not 100% certain this is the right category...

I'm thinking about starting a small project (web app or desktop app, I'm not sure yet) that involves LDraw files that should be able to be loaded into Stud.io. I've been looking into the file format and it seems pretty straight forward, however there's one thing I haven't been able to find yet, and that's a complete list of colors and their color IDs as they're used in Stud.io.

I've looked through a sample model I made to get a few color IDs, and checked if they matched the BrickLink Color Guide which unfortunately is not the case, so my question for you guys is: Is there a full list of Stud.io colors (with their IDs) available somewhere?

Thanks in advance! If my project turns out to be as cool as I hope, I'll gladly share the progress on here with you guys Big Grin

EDIT: I did just find the Color Definitions page, but something tells me this is still missing some of the colors that Stud.io uses. (I randomly ran into the color 10008 (Coral), which is not in the definitions page)
EDIT 2: Found the LDrawConfig file that Stud.io is using, but I doubt that's their primary source of colors as it was last updated in 2013 according to the file itself

Are there any tools that can batch process a number of models and replace one color with another color in all of them? Thanks.

  BrickLink colour changes
Posted by: Sylvain Sauvage - 2020-02-01, 23:55 - Forum: Official File Specifications/Standards - Replies (41)

Hi all,

BrickLink just changed the names for the Flesh colours: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1178151

Actually, it started yesterday with replacing “Flesh” with “Nougat” but now they replaced the colour “Dark Flesh” with “Medium Brown” and added “Dark Nougat” (previously conflated with “Earth Orange”).

Whoopee… maybe.

  LDPE triangle combine issue
Posted by: Orion Pobursky - 2020-01-31, 0:33 - Forum: Parts Author Tools - Replies (5)

LDPE isn't combining some triangles the way I would expect. Attached is a test file I created. If I select all 4 triangles and hit triangle to quad, nothing happens whereas I would expect them to combine to a single quad.
