I have created several huge models (10,000+ bricks) using Lego Digital Designer. I have converted those files to .ldr files and can open them individually in LDraw. 

Here is where i need help. I want to combine many of these HUGE models into one Epic File.  In case you are wondering, i am creating a model of our hometown and am building the sections in Lego Digital Designer. However LDD will not allow me to have more than one of these behemoths in one file. it will crash if i try to combine. 

that is where i am hoping LDraw can Help me out. IS THIS POSSIBLE?

If so would someone be willing to walk me through the process. I have tried for several hours on my own but i am new to the LDraw and and unable to fine the magic command. I think it has something to do with sub-models but have not been able to import my existing models as a sub-model in a .mpd file

According to 'LDraw.org Standards: Official Model Repository (OMR) Specification Version 1.0.3', each OMR compliant file consists of several .ldr files nested within a .mpd file.
What if the model is just a .ldr file.
Does the single .ldr file have to be nested into a .mpd file? --> like the attached .mpd file
Or may the single .ldr file be uploaded?
If the .ldr file is allowed to be taken, how must the header look like?
Does the header have to start according to the .ldr specification with 0 FILE .... ( like the attached .ldr file)
or is it allowed to be built like a .mpd?

The 2018-02 LDraw Parts Update has been now been released. This adds 1019 new files to the core library, including 540 new parts and 21 new primitives.

Thanks are of course due to all the part authors who created or corrected parts for this release. The reviewers also play an important role in keeping files moving through the Parts Tracker and deserve just as much credit.

You can preview the new parts in 2018-02 here, download the zip-file update or Windows install package here. Alternatively you can use the LDView menu option File | Check for Library Updates... to install the update.

After searching some files, I had errors with the MPDCenter that the file is not OMR compliant.
The reason of the error is that the file contains ~ moved to ... parts.
Have now read in the OMR definition the seventeenth time but found nothing about ~moved to files.

Question: Can a OMR compliant file now contain ~ moved to files or not?

Of interest as this part is being used in the nose of the upcoming Speed Champions McLaren Senna to pretty cool effect. I'm not seeing the part in LDD, but Mecabricks does have it. Haven't seen any other part-number cross reference so I'm pretty sure it's not in the Ldraw canon.

I've bitten the bullet and have begun to author parts for LDraw. I've started by looking at stickers, as they seem to be an easier entry point than other physical parts. One sticker I'm currently working on is a train logo from the set 7939-1 (Cargo Train).



For the purpose of this conversation, this sticker is roughly 80 LDUs wide. There is a second sticker with the same symbol / yellow background which is roughly 40 LDUs wide.

I can think of a couple of options for creating the 80 LDU and 40 LDU stickers;
1) duplicate the shapes related to the logo in their entirety from the 80 LDU sticker to the 40 LDU sticker
2) create a sub-part (?) containing the logo within a rectangular area. Define an 80 LDU and 40 LDU sticker whose content would then be an appropriately sized "hollow" rectangle plus the sub-part

I am looking for advice as to which of these options would be preferred/recommended/expected/required. Or, indeed, if there is another option to which I should comply.

Bonus question for 10 points. The sticker background is yellow. If I use the create a sub-part option, would there be any value to create the sub-part with a colour of "16" and then in the containing part, specify the appropriate colour value for yellow? My premise is that by having the sub-part with a colour of "16", it improves the potential for re-use in other parts, should the same size train logo be used in other sets.

I have just started investigating parts authoring and have read the tutorials that are available. I have found how to enter lines, triangles, quadrilaterals in MLCAD and can see that the primitive parts (e.g. Stud.dat) are available in the \p directory. How do I find them in MLCAD as they don't show up with the other parts? I have checked the MLCAD.INI file which says that the \p directory is automatically scanned and the the line 1 = HIDE P is commented out. I am at a loss but I am sure that it must be something simple that I am missing.

I try to do this kind of rubber band generation with the black 32123 part who make a constraint below the part. With LDCad, I have only successed to do a constraint above the part.
Is it possible to do this ? And if yes, please, can you help me ?

I have some color problems with it.
When imoporting an mpd/ldr file into brickstock it comes up with a color error on certain colors.
Is there anyway to get in contact with the developer to get this fixed?
