After searching some files, I had errors with the MPDCenter that the file is not OMR compliant.
The reason of the error is that the file contains ~ moved to ... parts.
Have now read in the OMR definition the seventeenth time but found nothing about ~moved to files.

Question: Can a OMR compliant file now contain ~ moved to files or not?

Of interest as this part is being used in the nose of the upcoming Speed Champions McLaren Senna to pretty cool effect. I'm not seeing the part in LDD, but Mecabricks does have it. Haven't seen any other part-number cross reference so I'm pretty sure it's not in the Ldraw canon.

I've bitten the bullet and have begun to author parts for LDraw. I've started by looking at stickers, as they seem to be an easier entry point than other physical parts. One sticker I'm currently working on is a train logo from the set 7939-1 (Cargo Train).



For the purpose of this conversation, this sticker is roughly 80 LDUs wide. There is a second sticker with the same symbol / yellow background which is roughly 40 LDUs wide.

I can think of a couple of options for creating the 80 LDU and 40 LDU stickers;
1) duplicate the shapes related to the logo in their entirety from the 80 LDU sticker to the 40 LDU sticker
2) create a sub-part (?) containing the logo within a rectangular area. Define an 80 LDU and 40 LDU sticker whose content would then be an appropriately sized "hollow" rectangle plus the sub-part

I am looking for advice as to which of these options would be preferred/recommended/expected/required. Or, indeed, if there is another option to which I should comply.

Bonus question for 10 points. The sticker background is yellow. If I use the create a sub-part option, would there be any value to create the sub-part with a colour of "16" and then in the containing part, specify the appropriate colour value for yellow? My premise is that by having the sub-part with a colour of "16", it improves the potential for re-use in other parts, should the same size train logo be used in other sets.

I have just started investigating parts authoring and have read the tutorials that are available. I have found how to enter lines, triangles, quadrilaterals in MLCAD and can see that the primitive parts (e.g. Stud.dat) are available in the \p directory. How do I find them in MLCAD as they don't show up with the other parts? I have checked the MLCAD.INI file which says that the \p directory is automatically scanned and the the line 1 = HIDE P is commented out. I am at a loss but I am sure that it must be something simple that I am missing.

I try to do this kind of rubber band generation with the black 32123 part who make a constraint below the part. With LDCad, I have only successed to do a constraint above the part.
Is it possible to do this ? And if yes, please, can you help me ?

I have some color problems with it.
When imoporting an mpd/ldr file into brickstock it comes up with a color error on certain colors.
Is there anyway to get in contact with the developer to get this fixed?

Since yesterday (03.12.2018), I am no longer able to submit parts on the tracker.

The reason for this must be a UTF8 / Ansi problem because my surname contains an "umlaut" (German "Ö").
The tracker generates an automatic upload blocking:


Header errors:

LINE 3: Author name (Ulrich Röder) must match registered name (Ulrich Röder) for Author ID (UR)


... and that, even though all parts were stored correctly in UTF8.

On my well-running system, only the update of the Nvidia driver has re-established, so this was the first suspect.
But even a rollback to the previous driver brought no improvement.

Also not another browser.

No matter what I save ... whether DATHeader, LDDesign Pad, or
LDPartEditor ..... always the same unpleasant result.


Maybe there was a change on the server, unnoticed, due to the extension of png. uploads for texmap?

"The error" is usually in front of the PC .... smile ... but I definitely find no clue ..... as I said ... except the driver update ... no changes on my part.

..any idea?

The proposal for part snapping extension is now ready for discussion. I basically copy, pasted, and wiki formatted Roland's LDCad spec.

Here are some thoughts/notes for discussion:
- The wiki has a talk page for discussion. Please do not use that and have all discussions here.
- I removed the LDCAD prefix, should we add something else?

The Parts Tracker now supports the uploading of image files for the Texture Mapping Language Extension (TEXMAP).
It should all be working, including the detection of dependencies and rendering of the preview images, but if you find any problems, please post here.
There is still some work to do to support this in the Parts Update process, so TEXMAP parts may need to be excluded from the next parts update.
The revised version of the submit page now allows multiple files of the same type and destination folder to be uploaded in one batch.
