  Duplo! (61649 2x4x3 Door Frame, 98225 2x2x2 Round, etc...)
Posted by: tom alphin - 2021-01-05, 1:22 - Forum: Part Requests - Replies (14)

I'm actually updating my LEGO Brick Labels to include the most common DUPLO bricks.  I was surprised to see that 61649, the current design of the 2x4x3 Door Frame is not in LDraw. This led me to updating my Most Common LEGO Parts database to output the Most Common DUPLO parts instead.

If you click on the Most Common DUPLO parts article, you will find that very many of the parts are missing photos (because photos are exported from LDraw using a custom script).  This includes parts in the top 20 list!

This suggests that DUPLO has not been a priority for the LDraw community recently, especially given how many fewer DUPLO pieces there are compared to the barrage of one-off pieces added to the LEGO system in recent years (especially in the Collectible Minifigures series.)

Missing Common DUPLO Parts:

Is there anyone working on, or interested in working on improved DUPLO coverage? If so, my Most Common DUPLO parts article may help decide which parts to tackle first.

thanks,
---tom

  Bionicle 44140 and related parts
Posted by: Gerald Lasser - 2021-01-02, 10:36 - Forum: Parts Authoring - Replies (1)

I uploaded part 44139 (which surprisingly is on Studio with a slightly different geometry)  I worked at the same time on 44140 and the different spines that can be attached to them.

As Johan was asking for 44140 in the chat, I will upload my "in work" version here. I am still lingering how to best add the indents.

LDraw.org 2020-03 Parts Update Now Available
Posted by: Chris Dee - 2020-12-29, 16:41 - Forum: LDraw.org Announcements - Replies (48)

The 2020-03 LDraw Parts Update has been now been released. This adds 1315 new files to the core library, including 829 new parts and 66 new primitives.

Thanks are due to all the part authors who created or corrected parts for this release. The small, but dedicated, band of reviewers also play an important role in keeping files moving through the Parts Tracker and deserve just as much credit.

You can preview the new parts in 2020-03 here, and download the zip-file update or Windows install package here. Alternatively you can use the LDView menu option File | Check for Library Updates... to install the update.

Import ldr Model into Unity issues.
Posted by: ajs - 2020-12-29, 11:14 - Forum: Help - Replies (7)

Hey LDraw community,
I am having an issue with importing my .ldr file into Unity.
I am using the Lego model importer that comes with the Lego Mini Game on the Unity game engine website.
When I import my model, parts of it are rotated on in the wrong position.

I checked the ldraw xml file and I have the most recent version.

Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

  Kinematics in LDCad
Posted by: Johann Eisner - 2020-12-29, 9:21 - Forum: LDraw Editors and Viewers - Replies (5)

Hi guys

I was asked a question that I couldn't answer 100 percent. As far as I know, it doesn't work.

Here's the question:

Hi Johann. Is there a possibility to move the kinematics in the LDcad? Example: I have a rectangle built from individual parts and want to move it to a parallelogram by twisting an arm around its pin at one of the joints. In the LDD, if you built the joints according to a certain scheme, then the movement of the remaining parts ran smoothly.

 Johann

13565 vs. 61506 (Fedora style hats)
Posted by: Orion Pobursky - 2020-12-27, 14:08 - Forum: Part Requests - Replies (2)

Rebrickable has LDraw renderings for both:
13565 Minifig Hat Very Wide Brim, Outback Style [Fedora]
and
61506 Minifig Hat Wide Brim, Outback Style (Fedora)

I can only find 61506 in the library. Is 13565 hidden somewhere? If not, is someone willing to clean up and submit the digitalbricks file:

  4002020 - Employee Present 2020
Posted by: Max Martin Richter - 2020-12-25, 10:33 - Forum: Official Models - Replies (1)

Dear all,

I hope you have a great Christmas this this year, even if the circumstances are different this year.

Here is the Employee Present from 2020.

Sorry, it's not yet OMRized. Furthermore one part and the two patterns are missing. I'll fix this as soon as I can.
