  Highlight edges in model tree?
Posted by: N. W. Perry - 2020-09-15, 22:23 - Forum: LDraw Editors and Viewers - Replies (2)

Is there a way to highlight edge lines while browsing the model tree? I know condlines will highlight, but regular edges don't seem to.

  Viewing available part count
Posted by: Darin - 2020-09-14, 5:47 - Forum: LDraw Editors and Viewers - Replies (9)

Hello, I just discovered LDCad (1.6d) and want to know if there is a way to show remaining parts in the part bin (or anywhere else).

I'm interested in creating designs from a limited number of parts, and would like a way of knowing if I've stayed within that limit.

I found the showCount property in the Overivew group http://www.melkert.net/LDCad/tech/partBin

And I exported a part list from a set on Rebrickable, dropped that file in the sets dir, and see the part count there.

So both pieces of information exist in the tool, but I'm looking for some way to see that information together.

I can think of 2 ways I might find this:
 1) Show both use count and total count in the part bin
 2) Update part bin count to show available remaining

Is there a way to see this information? If not in LDCad, is is viewable in some other editor?

Alternatively maybe I could open a second part bin window and eyeball it, but that doesn't seem practical if I'm using very many unique parts.

Thanks!

Rotating Part (not model) on Building Step
Posted by: Leonardo Gonzalez - 2020-09-11, 18:44 - Forum: LDraw Editors and Viewers - Replies (5)

When creating a building step with LDCad, if you rotate a part (not the whole model) it is rotated for all building steps. Is there a way to make the part rotation unique for a specific building step or from one building step onwards?

  Replace 973p4v or new part?
Posted by: Evert-Jan Boer - 2020-09-09, 16:05 - Forum: Parts Tracker Discussion - Replies (2)

Official torso 973p4v only has a pattern on the front, but Bricklink has the part listed as a two-sided torso (973pb0537).
There is only one minifig which has the torso without the back print, an exclusive minifig in a limited set.

I would like to upload the part with front/back patterns, should I pick a new number or have 973p4v replaced?

LDView 4.4 Beta 2 test release
Posted by: Travis Cobbs - 2020-09-07, 20:10 - Forum: LDraw Editors and Viewers - No Replies

I have posted a test release for LDView 4.4 Beta 2 to GitHub:

https://github.com/tcobbs/ldview/release...v4.4_Beta2

This release contains bug fixes since Beta 1, in addition to adding check boxes to the Windows Save Snapshot dialog to disable usage of Framebuffer Object and/or Pixel Format.

The ChangeHistory.html file that is included in the release lists all of the changes since LDView 4.3. In the macOS version, ChangeHistory.html is in the dmg. In the Windows version, ChangeHistory.html gets installed to wherever you install LDView (C:\Program Files\LDView by default). I'm actually not sure where it goes in the Linux version. Please see my Alpha 6 announcement for a list of what I feel are the most important changes relative to LDView 4.3.

Please let me know about any problems you find. The preferred way to do that is with LDView's GitHub Issues tracker. However, if you do not want to create a GitHub account so that you can do that, you can reply to this message.
