  Collision detection

Hello,

how do you check if there is a collision in your model. I have not found anything in MLCad, LDCad I know too little,
Studio is sometimes too unreliable.

Greetings

Dinosaur/Dragon neck part & Owl with spread wings
Posted by: Sim - 2022-08-20, 11:46 - Forum: Part Requests - No Replies

Hi, I'd like two pieces please:
59225 (variant 1) (variant 2)
67632

Both are on http://www.digital-bricks.de/en/statistic4.php, 59225 is grey and 67632 is red. I don't need the printing for 67632.
Thank you Smile

Licenses - am I free to...
Posted by: Lenny - 2022-08-15, 19:06 - Forum: Help - Replies (1)

Hi!

I read some texts about licenses of using LDraw, but I apreciate any help if I am wrong. I made a simple game with Ldraw models - am I free to "make it online"? *

* Making it online: it would be public Stackblitz project, with url to play online and also source code on GitHub - hence not typical "www.mygame.com".

I found this:

1. https://www.ldraw.org/legal-info

Quote:You are free:

to copy - distribute, display, and use the CA approved LDraw Parts Library
to make derivative works

I made MOC's, but also build few incomplete original Lego models, for example only jeep from 6677 model - what about this?

I made game sprites(?) - simple screen from LDCad, like this:

The game includes 3D models rendered with Three.js (LDrawLoader for Three.js). It was created for my nephews and exists only locally on my pc.

  Using LPub3D with Ubuntu
Posted by: Manfred Schaefer - 2022-08-12, 17:14 - Forum: LDraw File Processing and Conversion - Replies (3)

I have tried to install LPub3D in Ubuntu 22.04. The Version of LPub3D is 2.4.4.0.2671

For this I used the following command:

sudo snap install lpub3D

The installation went without errors, but the display of the mpd file is incorrect.

I have juxtaposed the images below. The images on the left are from a computer running Windows 7 and the images on the right are from a computer running Ubuntu 22.04.

On another computer with Ubuntu 21.10 it is the same behavior.[Image: sad.png]

If I set the value for 'Camera distance' to 2000 in the menu under 'Visual Editor/Preference', then the scaling is correct. but the error on the third image (callout shifted) remains.[Image: huh.png]

Can someone help me and tell me where the problem could be here?

Greetings

Manfred

  Studio to ldraw
Posted by: Agent - 2022-08-09, 18:01 - Forum: Help - Replies (2)

For quite some time now I have been building official LEGO Sets in stud.io. Recently I stumbled upon the OMR, and realized that many of the sets I built were not in there and I wanted to contribute.

Now to the question: Is there an easy and fast way to convert .io files to LDraw files.

Jonas

PS: I am sorry if this is in the wrong section or if this has been answered before.

Question to LPub3D in a virtual PC
Posted by: Manfred Schaefer - 2022-08-09, 17:13 - Forum: LDraw File Processing and Conversion - No Replies

Hello,
does anyone have experience with Istallation of the AIOI including LPub3D or only LPub3D in a virtual machine.
If so, what operating system did you use for the host and guest? Which virtualization software did you use?

I used Virtualbox 6.1.34 with Ubuntu 22.04 as host OS and Windows 7 (64bit), Windows 10 (64bit) and Ubuntu 22.04 as guest OS.
With Windows, the graphics were terrible. The rendering in LDView was fine.
With Ubuntu, the display of the model or build steps is too large. However, if I increase the distance for the camera in the menu item for the visual editor under Preference, the display of the model becomes smaller.

I used the newest AIOI in Windows and the latest version of LPub3D in Ubuntu.

I suspect a problem with the graphics here, but it should simulate a standard graphics card and the appearance should be like a real computer.

Greetings

Manfred
