I'm getting back into part authoring and have three torsos ready to submit. I'm looking at doing the troubadour torso next, but he also has printed legs.

I've never done printed legs and hips, and that might be a bridge too far for me, but I'm curious if I can learn to pull it off in time. But since we have some parts like that, do any experienced part authors have good tips on how to do that?

(For torsos I'm working on some tools to help me crank those out faster. One of the bigger problems I had was lining up photos from BrickLink to trace an .svg over, but I've figured out a nice way to deal with that.)

Upon downloading the latest part pack the 3023 part appears to have been split, I now have 3023a in my parts list instead. This is a real pain as it no longer has a simple 3023 (1x2 plate). All my previous models now have to be updated, but even worse the conversion tool for bricklink parts list no longer will recognize this so have to be manually amended, which is a huge frustration. Why has this change happened? It seems pedantic in the extreme. Is there a way to rename parts in the parts list simply? I would love to get rid of all the "a" variants as they simply mess up the MLCad 2 Bricklink Converter.

6192.dat seems broken, but it is so old I was doubting LDCad's detection.

LDView doesn't issue warnings though.

Hi all'
This is a new one to me?
when I reload a design it shows a lot of the items with either a red or blue outline. When this happens I cannot insert any new items, they drag on but when I let go of the mouse button they disappear!
Do you think I have an issue with my computer or the program itself?
Any help would be really appreciated.

I have started working on replacing 3004s60 by new logo prims in all parts and started with 3004pt2 (https://library.ldraw.org/official/3593)
This patterned part was only produced in Yellow therefore the Yellow within the logo should not be part of the print and usually for this use case we would use color 16: https://img.bricklink.com/ItemImage/PN/3/3004px26.png
However I found other examples of parts with such beahviour e.g. 3010pt7 (https://library.ldraw.org/official/3951)
I was wondering if there is any exception for logos so that if someone decide to use this part e.g. in Blue the logo will remain with appropriate colors.
I have looked for an answer in the specifications but I could not find any answer to my concern. Sorry if I missed it.

The 2023-03 LDraw Parts Update has been released. This update adds 539 new files to the core library, including 429 new parts and 6 new primitives.

Thanks are due to all the part authors who created or corrected parts for this release. The small, but dedicated, band of reviewers also play an important role in keeping files moving through the Parts Tracker and deserve just as much credit. This update wouldn't have been possible without their dedication and attention to detail.

I'm going to call this the Leg Update. We fixed the Minifig Leg parts and completed a massive effort to update all official files and obsolete the old ones. We then decided to go ahead and approve every Minifig Leg part on the tracker. This update include Minifig legs of all sizes and patterns.

You can preview the new parts in 2023-02 here, and download the zip-file update or Windows install package here.

This update also includes 2276 parts that have been updated to CC BY 4.0 . These files are included with only the license line updated (as opposed to the the normal process of updating the !LDRAW_ORG line and adding a !HISTORY statement)
