21562, Large Figure Armor, Leg Shin Guard
Posted by: Franklin W. Cain - 2022-11-14, 17:11 - Forum: Part Requests - Replies (2)

21562, Large Figure Armor, Leg Shin Guard
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/cat...ge?P=21562

Per the "sticky" thread, I checked at http://www.digital-bricks.de/en/statistic4.php first, but I did not find this part listed there.

(Edit): When I first saw the Obi-Wan buildable figure, I realized I could use that model as a source for building various comic book characters, like this one...

Thanks,
Franklin

  Downloading Lego Bricks

Hello,

I'm just wondering how to download pieces from the database as .obj files or some other 3d file type. Any help is very much appreciated!

Question about a comment in the Parts Tracker
Posted by: Manfred Schaefer - 2022-11-12, 17:09 - Forum: Parts Authoring - Replies (1)

Hello,

since I'm not a parts reviewer and I don't know how to reply to a comment in the parts tracker where I'm not the parts author, I'm asking my question this way

Holly-Wood has put his veto on hold with the following comment.

https://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.c...314p02.dat

"This is not a part but a short-cut. However it is actually a physical colour part - something we don't want. Should be deleted."

I do not understand the comment. The rim can have different colours, here (p02) currently only one. But the tire has the colours black (p01) and bright green (p02).
When using this part, I can only pass the colour of the rim. But what if I want a bright green tyre?
The colour of the rim is currently black or transparent for a black tyre.Currently with a bright green tyre also bright green rim.

I agree with the first part of the comment, but there are other parts in the library where this classification is not correct, in my opinion.

Regards

Manfred

  80319 8x8 adhesive baseplate
Posted by: SNIPE - 2022-11-12, 15:42 - Forum: Part Requests - Replies (2)

Hi,

I would like to request quite a simple part,

It's ID is of course: 80319 and here is some images and information about it:
https://www.newelementary.com/2022/11/41...eview.html

it is 8Lx 8L and is half a plate thick according to the image. (20x20x4 LDU and the stud height is 4LDU high and 12 LDU in diameter.

Its name on pick a brick is: BASE PLATE 8X8, ADHESIVE

I am not bothered about the peel off backing. It looks like you could just use just about any LDRAW base plate part as a template but cut it down to 8x8

Thanks, Snipe

  Part 24314p01 and p02

I don't have this part readily available. Is the tyre removable?

  Question about subparts (3626bs01, 3626cs01)
Posted by: Manfred Schaefer - 2022-11-12, 13:23 - Forum: Parts Authoring - Replies (4)

Hello,

I noticed that for the printed Minifig Head with Hollow Stud, there is a subpart that contains the stud and the back of the head (3626cs01).
For the printed Minifig Head with Blocked Hollow Stud there is also this subpart (3626bs01), but here it is marked as obsolete.
What is the reason for this here?
Can't this subpart be replaced by a modified version of subpart 3626cs01?

Greetings

Manfred

  Legalization & Access
Posted by: Biddiscombe - 2022-11-12, 1:07 - Forum: Parts Authoring - Replies (3)

Am I allowed to 3D print any of these lego models? I don't plan on breaking the terms of service, just print out a specific part and change the coloring and print a sticker on it. I ask this because the file is a .dat and I can't seem to convert it into .stl or .obj for printing. Am I breaking the terms of service or am I just not doing something correctly.

  [LDPatternCreator] Marquee selection behaviour
Posted by: Philippe Hurbain - 2022-11-11, 9:50 - Forum: Parts Author Tools - Replies (1)

There are two things I don't like that much with LDPC marquee selection:

  • If I try to extend a selection using ctrl + marquee drag, already selected elements covered by the new marquee get deselected. It would be much more useful if ctrl + marquee only add to selection
  • In triangle creation mode, if you make a marquee to select a vertex and miss this one, a new vertex is created. It would be better that nothing happened if there is no vertex in marquee area.

Otherwise, still longing for an area auto-filler triangulation Wink

head (mock-up) for large buildable figures
Posted by: Franklin W. Cain - 2022-11-10, 20:50 - Forum: MOCs (My Own Creations) - No Replies

Considering that some of the Hero Factory and Large Figure pieces have been modelled in LDraw, I must presume that at least some of you are interested in building / modelling these large figures. (For ex.: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=75109-1)

To help in this regard, I've built a "mock-up" of a head for these figures, to be used as a placeholder (until such time as the correct  / proper head is written). I believe my file is reasonably in scale with these models. It uses only two part files still in the Tracker (shown as either Red or Blue in my file). All of the other parts that I used are already in the Library.

I hope you find this MOC to be useful.  ;-)

Franklin

  Bionicle mini weapons
Posted by: Orion Pobursky - 2022-11-05, 20:51 - Forum: Parts Tracker Discussion - Replies (1)

I vaguely remember posting this before but I can't find it. Anyway:

https://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptscan.cgi...ope=header

I think all these Bionicle mini weapons with in the "Bar" in the title should instead have "Minifig".
