  500 error on download page

  "Uncertified Subparts" status

I've always been unsatisfied with the "Uncertified Subparts" status. It hides parts that have certify votes  from admin review. 

A possible solution to this is to get rid of the "Uncertified subparts" status entirely. This will required a change in the logic for "Certified" to take subpart status into account. If a part is certified but not releaseable due to subparts needing certification it's status could be "Certified, not Releaseable". Then then "Awaiting admin review" and "Needs more votes" status logic could be changed to ignore subpart status.

Thoughts?

Hi all,

Since we now have a 1x5 plate, can we please add keyword "plate 1x5" to
- 2711 Technic rotor 2 blade with 2 studs
- 32124 Technic rotor 2 blade with 4 studs

I always thought of 2711 more like i.e. 4262 Technic Plate 1x6 with Holes, so 2711 to me is more like "Technic plate 1x5 with Holes and Center Axle Hole"

Regarding 32124 is more often used as a plate that a rotor, to achieve an odd length or width or span 5 studs instead of using a 1x2 and 1x3 nowadays.

Bricklinks description of 32124 is "Technic, Plate 1 x 5 with Smooth Ends, 4 Studs and Center Axle Hole", which is IMHO a better description.
Though without "Technic" and also LDaw tends to use Round instead of Smooth here, like in 35480 (Plate 1x2 with Round Ends)

I suggest to rename 32124 to "Plate 1 x 5 with Round Ends, 4 Studs and Center Axle Hole"

Or is this a too wild idea?

Any thoughts?

  Edge Thickness in Snapshot

Hello! I was just wondering, is there any way to preserve Edge Lines Thickness while taking a snapshot? I can change the thickness to view the model but once I do a snapshot, the image is produced with thin edge lines and not with the thickness selected in Geometry tab on the preferences.

  Inline Comments in LDRAW

Hi,

Quick question, doesn't matter so much if it isn't possible I guess but,

Is it possible to add a comment on the same line as a file reference in LDRAW but always after the file name?

I tried:

1 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 3024.dat //P1

But I think it thought the file was called '3024.dat //P1'

I have never seen a common windows file extension that contained a space Tongue but computers will be computers I guess

I'm probably going to assume that there is no way to do it therefore, but maybe I'm wrong.

  CA Affirmation

I'm working on updating the accounts of who has sent me a message since we changed it last year but I haven't finished inputting everyone. Assuming I haven't updated you, you may see a screen asking you to affirm the new CA. Once you click "Affirm" your account will be updated and you'll never that screen again.

  [LDPE] 1.8.67 Released (scientific num. / bugfix: manipulator pos/ library.ldraw.org)

this release adds hints when using the scientific number format.
It corrects a 3D manipulator bug and five other issues.
The download of data from library.ldraw.org works now!

With this release you will be able to...

  • ...see a hint on numbers with scientific notation (you can also "quick fix" these numbers).

The following critical issues were fixed:

  1. The 3D manipulator orientation got polluted.
  2. LDPE was not able to download from library.ldraw.org
  3. The tabs in the 3D editor couldn't be moved around. The text editor was not affected.
  4. SymSplitter cutted with data from subfiles too, in addition to the cutting plane (see images on https://github.com/nilsschmidt1337/ldpar...issues/959 )
  5. Intersector calculated sometimes wrong results with some triangles missing.
  6. It was not possible to do a "copy + transform" action on MacOS X with the cursor keys (see https://github.com/nilsschmidt1337/ldpar...issues/958 ).

The program was tested intensively with "real world" files.
However, something can go wrong in about 140.000 lines of code.

Installation on Windows:

  1. Download and extract LDPartEditor_win32_x64.zip
  2. Run LDPartEditor-1.8.67.msi
  3. Start LDPartEditor from the start menu
Installation on Linux:

  1. Download and extract LDPartEditor_linux_x64.zip
  2. Install ldparteditor_1.8.67-1_amd64.deb
  3. Start LDPartEditor from the menu or via launcher
Installation on Mac OS X:

  1. Download and extract LDPartEditor_mac_x64.zip
  2. Mount LDPartEditor-1.8.67.dmg
  3. Drag LDPartEditor.app to the Applications folder
  4. Copy ldparteditor.sh to your home folder

  Town, Trains and Boats 1987

I noticed that there are a few sets still missing from 1987 so I thought it might be good to start a new thread.

Keep in mind that there may be some models posted in the original "1980's 1990's Town and Trains" thread so please check there, or by using the forums search, or even in the OMR Database before uploading any models here.

My first contribution is thanks to Philo who recently created two of the missing, floating hulls! I will post the remaining boats shortly.  Smile

The render below is based on the box art in which the rear black 1x6 bar with open studs was moved back by one stud compared to the instructions. This allows the Minifig to be attached where otherwise the black bar would have been.

  Parts Tracker feature addition

I've added two new features to the Parts Tracker:
- Track/Untrack a part. When you submit or review a part, events for that part are emailed to you daily. If you wish to get updates for other parts or stop getting updates you can click the button to do so. 
- Flag for deletion. Part reviewers can flag a part for deletion, if need. Admin will review the part and either delete it or unflag it.

P.S.: While I was typing this I realized that it would be useful for the part author to be able to flag their own parts. I'll implement that shortly.
