cheese slope dimensions

cheese slope dimensions

This is my first post. I hope I follow all guidelines.

I want to know the dimensions of a cheese slope tile. I have downloaded the 54200.dat parts file, but I'm not sure how to interpret it. Can anybody help me?

I am interested in knowing the exact length of the side with a length of approximately 8.5mm:

Thank you,

The cheese slope is 1x1, so 20LDU x 20LDU. Just looking at the LDraw code you posted, it looks like its 16 LDU tall. (I see Y values from 0 to -16.)

The approximate answer in the real world is that one LDraw Unit is equal to 0.4mm, so the cheese slope would be 8x8x6.4 (mm). The exact answer is much more complicated, so you should see this here:

have you seen this mosaics tutorial?
it could help in finding the proper dimensions

I took a real one: Due to the fact, that we don't model the seams between the parts (but the viewers can show them by a special setting) all parts in the our Library are a bit too wide. (It's about 0.2 mm).
The real brick is 7.8 x 7.8 x 6.2 mm. The lowest point of the slope is at 1.8 mm. The groove for the fingernails is 0.5 mm high.
The library dimension had been posted correctly by Travis.

Max, those were exactly the measurements I needed. The length of the sloped side is then:
sqrt( (6.2-1.8)^2 + 7.8^2 ) ~ 8.955mm ~ 114.8% of the 7.8mm side.

Thank you very much for your kind help!

Mit freundlichen Grussen,
Tommy
