RCX 1.0/1.5/2.0 Modules

RCX 1.0/1.5/2.0 Modules
#1
Here's a guide to numbering for the RCX modules for someone looking to create 1.5 and 2.0:

RCX 1.0 module:

76048: Complete Assembly
32109 (already made): Battery cover
32110: IR "glass" on the front
32116: The green, lower part where the batteries go
32058: The yellow, upper part without the clear plastic screen protector and unprinted
32058p01: 30258 with RCX 1.0 Pattern
32108: The clear plastic screen protector
76113: The yellow, upper part with the clear plastic screen protector
6554 (Already made): The electrical plates, plastic portion
75212: 6554 plus the metal electrical contacts
71748: The circuit board
71645: The gray/green button assembly and the black/red button assembly

Since the top of 884 (the full assembly) is hard coded yellow and I think that part should be color 16, we're going to obsolete 884 and create a new complete assembly with the correct number

RCX 1.5 module:

76454 or 76454c01: Complete Assembly
32109 (already made): Battery cover
32110: IR "glass" on the front
32116: The green, lower part where the batteries go
32374: The yellow, upper part without the clear plastic screen protector and unprinted
32374p01: 32058 with RCX 1.5 Pattern
32108: The clear plastic screen protector
32374p01c01: The yellow, upper part with the clear plastic screen protector (no number known, unlike 1.0)
6554 (Already made): The electrical plates, plastic portion
75212: 6554 plus the metal electrical contacts
?: The circuit board
71645: The gray/green button assembly and the black/red button assembly

RCX 2.0 module:

76454a or uXXXX or 76454c02 : Complete Assembly
32109 (already made): Battery cover
32110: IR "glass" on the front
32116: The green, lower part where the batteries go
32374: The yellow, upper part without the clear plastic screen protector and unprinted
32374p02: 32058 with RCX 2.0 Pattern
32108: The clear plastic screen protector
32374p02c01: The yellow, upper part with the clear plastic screen protector (no number known, unlike 1.0)
6554 (Already made): The electrical plates, plastic portion
75212: 6554 plus the metal electrical contacts
?: The circuit board
71645: The gray/green button assembly and the black/red button assembly

This post will be update as numbers are known.

I have both a 1.0 and 2.0 so can provide pics as well.

Re-arranged the content accordingly. Don't think I can, or should, take it any further.

Please note, that the battery compartment is very similar to the Code Pilot one. I think, the metal clamps could be even the same.

Yes they are.

What's the difference between 1.0 and 2.0?
Are there version without the charge socket?
Why do they have a 6 digit number code on the side?

There should be no differences besides 2.0 having better hardware as far as I'm aware

1.0 is the only one with an AC socket. Also, 1.5 doesn't have 1.5 on the side.
The 6 digit code is a serial number.

Aside from that, I not aware of any other visual differences but Philo can correct me if I'm wrong.

Small update to the above:
32058: The yellow, upper part without the clear plastic screen protector and unprinted (the printed version has a number but for consistency we'll go with 32058p01)
71645: The gray/green button assembly and the black/red button assembly

What is printed version's number is tho?

How deep are the 4 pinholes on the sides. Half pin or a whole regular pin 3749?
Stud orientation?

They're 5.2mm deep. A half pin fits and clicks in, a full pin does not.

More precisely, the so called 1.5 (that came in robotics invention system 1.5) does have 1.0 on side, and lost the ac adapter plug.

Sounds like a different mould. Same partnumber, 32058?

If 76113 is the yellow, upper (printed) part with the clear plastic screen protector for 1.0 (and 1.5) ,
whats the number for the 2.0 with glass, but without AC port?

The mould for the 1.5 certainly seems like it would be different

I'll see if it was discussed in the RCX discussion we had and figure it out if it wasn't

Then the snap info in LDCad is not correct. But the geometry is.

I've update the top post to include all the RCX variants with known numbers or what they will be in the library.

We should probably hash out what to number 1.5 and 2.0 since they share a number for the complete assembly. I think 76454c01 and 76454c02 are the best options.

Looks like a fair option

Should this number contain only 32058p01 + 32106 ?
Or does it also contain the rest of what's now in 883 ?

Is this correct? I think it might be 32108 instead.

Just 32058p01 + 32106

Joshua wrote (multiple times) 32106. Is there a reason you might think different?

OK,
76113 is only 32058p01 + 32108

Then, IMHO, we should renumber current file 883.dat  to 76113c01.dat.

But using 32374p01c01 and 32374p02c01 on the top part without AC socket create a problem.
I need a file to assemble the top part RCX 1.5 and 2.0. It would have to be 32374p01c01c01. Stupid.

Should I use a u-number on the top with glass, and then create uXXXXc01 as the assembly?
Or, do I keep 32374p02c01 as the top with glass, and use uXXXX on the assembly?
