No rocket science, I started before you asked Big Grin  (https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.p...w-library/)
BTW, could you get me photos of the rotary chageover (top/bottom/right/front)? There are many available on the web, but nothing in cartesian directions... And side photo of brake disc (with thickness)

I am missing some depth measurements...
- Distance between pins supporting disc (base of pins) and back of rim?
- Distance between front stud base and front of rim? And more generally, distance between the various elements of center 5 branch star and front of wheel.

Hello,

Thank you for the wonderfull work, I just have one problem.

I downloaded the part, and the required subparts, but when I try to use the piece I end up with this.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? All the parts are in the right folder.

Thank you.

Hi Kevin,
Welcome here!
The only explanation I see is that you forgot to download the sub-subpart http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cg...383s02.dat ...

I've downloaded all the files and still had the same problem so I went loooking into the files, now to make clear I'm no expert at all in these files but decided to just take a look.

In the main file I see a reference to s\37383s00.dat and s\37383s01.dat so I decided to open these aswell.
In the file s\37383s00.dat from line 36 untill 45 I see multiple references to s/37383s02.dat (which contain the spokes), now since the since the file 37383s00 is already inside the s/ folder I decided to give it a go and remove the "s/" on these lines and when I now inserted the main model the spokes did appear, I'm just left with a couple of small holes next to them.

So I'm getting closer, but I am wondering if this is just on my machine, or if this is a general problem?

I am puzzled...  It could be a folder mess (wrong folder tree structure), bad configuration of program. The screenshot comes from LDCad doesn't it? Maybe have a look at the part using LDView. This one will probably work since it pulls elements it misses from LDraw server.

Anyway you shouldn't have to modify the internal structure of parts/subparts. But your experiment is nonetheless interesting, the missing element causing holes is 5-16cyli.dat that should be in (Ldraw)/p folder.
So I strongly suggest that you download again the full LDraw library and reinstall it...

Okay, thanks for the tip, I went ahead and downloaded the complete official and Unofficial parts zip files, deleted the existing files and reinstalled them.

The result however is that we're back to the first image.

I've also taken a look at the library locations path in LDCad, but I don't see anything out of the ordinary.

In LDView however the part does show correctly

Just as you I'm puzzled aswell... Huh

EDIT:
Okay I feel like an idiot now... Just as I was taken another look at this post, I noticed that in the library paths of LDCad, the unofficial library was for some reason set as "Donor", I changed this to "Unofficial" and voila, the rim now shows pops up beautifully. (only just about half of my model dissapeared  Cry )

You might want to make sure each library has its own folder (so one is not in a sub of the other) as LDCad might behave unexpected in some cases otherwise.

Or use complete.zip and ldrawunf.zip without unpacking them.

AFAIK it completes the list of Chiron Technic parts (still missing: license plate and... stickers!)

Are there more errors?

Why is the white axle joiner pushed into the yellow driving ring?
The teeth on the yellow ring is barely touching the fingers on the blue gear?

Nothing critical, but increased blue gear clutch tooth size.
