6991 (reflective foil) stickers? |

How would you represent the background of the 6991 stickers (sheet 168285) in LDraw? The BL entry makes it look like a mosaic pattern, but it's actually a multi-faceted reflective foil effect, with hundreds of tiny square/circular reflectors "printed" on it.
Hard to show in photos, but here's an overview: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/xzcAAOSwR...-l1600.jpg
Obvious workaround would be large areas of, say, chrome silver, but that's not terribly accurate at showing the true texture, nor the randomized reflectorization of the many facets. But it might be the closest thing we have.

Guys,
I need a French, Dutch and Spanish translation for the following dialog messages in the Additional-Tools-Installer:
The LDraw Environment Variable could not be found. The LDraw Parts Library has to be installed prior launching this installer. The installer will be closed now.
The LDraw Parts Library could not be found. Browse for the folder named \"LDraw\", usually located in:\n\nC:\\Users\\Public\\Documents
Locate LDraw Parts Library folder
The following folder has been chosen
The LDraw Parts Library could not be found. The LDraw Parts Library has to be installed prior launching this installer. The installer will be closed now.
Thx.

LDCad Camera Test animation fails |

I've been using the Camera Test animation frequently and then this afternoon it stopped working. The MOC just stays in the initial postion.
The other example animations all still work as usual; only Camera Test fails. When using the OpenGL animation export, it just exports hundreds of identical images.
I downloaded the latest version of LDCad and reinstalled it to no avail. It fails on my MOCs and on the examples like 5550.mpd.

Hello everyone,
I recently started using Leocad to make instructions for the hubelino-duplo marble run. My 5 year old som loves it. However we have some bricks in our collection which are not available here. It would be awesome if someone could make them. Since they look straightforward I hope they are easy to program. You would make my son very very happy!
Please let me know if you need anything else, I can make pictures if needed. Thank you very much!
Baseplates:
Baseplate 8 x 16 (biobuddy)
Baseplate 16 x 32 (hubelino)
Plates:
2x2 (unico, set hello kitty)
10 x 20 (unico, set hello kitty)
Part:
1 x 2 normal height, (2x height of plate) (hubelino)

[LDPE] 1.8.69 Released (STL-Import / Line size changes, INVERTNEXT error detection) |

Hi,
you can import STL files into LDPE now (binary and ASCII STL).
And thanks to Willy's and Magnus' feedback I fixed two errors.
One solution improves the speed for the change of the line size alot.
The other solution corrects the detection on invalid "0 BFC INVERTNEXT" meta statements.
![[Image: attachment.php?aid=12753]](https://forums.ldraw.org/attachment.php?aid=12753)
As always, you can download LDPE from this page:
http://nilsschmidt1337.github.io/ldparteditor/
Changelog:
(1 new feature and 2 bug fixes)
With this release you will be able to...
- ...import STL files (via "Open Part File" -> choose "STL-File (*.stl)", instead of "LDraw Source File (*.dat)").
The following critical issue is fixed:
- Switching the line size caused long reloading times.
- "BFC INVERTNEXT" was invalid when the previous subfile was not found.
The program was tested intensively with "real world" files.
However, something can go wrong in about 140.000 lines of code.
Installation on Windows:
- Download and extract LDPartEditor_win32_x64.zip
- Run LDPartEditor-1.8.69.msi
- Start LDPartEditor from the start menu
Installation on Linux:
- Download and extract LDPartEditor_linux_x64.zip
- Install ldparteditor_1.8.69-1_amd64.deb
- Start LDPartEditor from the menu or via launcher
Installation on Mac OS X:
- Download and extract LDPartEditor_mac_x64.zip
- Mount LDPartEditor-1.8.69.dmg
- Drag LDPartEditor.app to the Applications folder
- Copy ldparteditor.sh to your home folder
4a. Open a Terminal.app and run ./ldparteditor.sh
4b. Or open a Terminal.app and run /Applications/LDPartEditor.app/Contents/MacOS/LDPartEditor
I listen carefully to your requests and possible complaints. Please leave me a message, with your thoughts and wishes to further improve the software.
LDPE is a 3D CAD application: The overall system requirements are higher. While I recommend to use a powerful 64-bit multicore system, it could be possible, to run LDPE on older machines as well.
System Requirements:
Minimum System Requirements:
- OpenGL 2.1 compatible Graphics Card
- Operating System (64-bit): Windows [7 or newer], Linux [e.g. Ubuntu Linux >=14.4], Mac OS X [>=10.6]
- CPU: Multicore-Processor e.g. Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon II (>2.0Ghz)
- RAM: 4GB
- Video-Memory: 1 GB
- Free Disk Space: 100 MB
Recommended Requirements:
- Operating System (64bit): Windows 7,8,10, Linux [e.g. Ubuntu Linux >=14.4], Mac OS X [>=10.6]
- OpenGL 3.3 compatible Graphics Card
- CPU: Multicore-Processor with 4 cores (or more)
- RAM: >4 GB
- Video-Memory: >1 GB
- Free Disk Space: 512 MB
- For a faster start, LDPartEditor and the LDraw™ library should be installed on an SSD.

Upcoming change to part submission |

Once testing is finished, I'm implementing a small change to the way part submission works in setup for a much larger overhaul.
Right now, the submitter chooses what folder they are submitting a part to. I realized that for non-TEXMAP images, choosing the folder doesn't matter as this is determined by the part type and is enforced by the validation. I'm going to remove the folder choices for text parts and replace with "DAT part" or something equivalent.
The bonus to this change is that you'll be able to submit all your text file at the same time as opposed to all the primitives then all the subparts then the parts, etc... The only files that will have to be submitted separately will be TEXMAP images.
Eventually, I'm going to change it so that you can submit everything at once and the PT will prompt you to choose a folder for the TEXMAP files if it can't figure it out based on usage.
