Based on his body of work and the awesome job on the Muppet heads, I have promoted Fredrik Hareide [fhareide] to part reviewer.

Thanks for your continued contributions to the LDraw.org Official Library!

  Snap to flexible parts
Posted by: Jaco van der Molen - 2024-02-14, 8:39 - Forum: LDraw Editors and Viewers - Replies (5)

Hi all,

Is there a good way to add snapinfo (LDCad) to a flexible part like a rigid hose?
I'd like to be able to snap parts with clips (for example) to a formed and curved rigid hose.

Thanks!

Jaco

P.S. I did ask before, and got things to work a little. Still very complex and a lot of work.
I'd like to see it to be standard. If possible.

See also https://forums.ldraw.org/thread-26354.html for something similar. Never got this to work properly either :-(

  Minifig fig-014654 request (E-Sports Gamer)
Posted by: Geo Draco - 2024-02-14, 7:35 - Forum: Part Requests - Replies (2)

Hello,

requesting the parts for series 25 collectable figure “E-Sports Gamer”, since it doesn’t appear to be in the database as of yet (relatively new prints). Rebrickable link: https://rebrickable.com/minifigs/fig-014...mer/#parts
[Image: 800x800p.jpg?1704294300.2870128]

Alternatively, are there any resources available on how one might go about recreating printed minifigure parts in LDraw themselves? I’m unfamiliar with the process of making parts for LDraw, but I do have some 3D experience already and might like to attempt adding some of these new figure prints myself, if the process is not terribly difficult.

  Help with pattern colors
Posted by: Fredrik Hareide - 2024-02-13, 7:34 - Forum: Parts Authoring - Replies (7)

I'm making two of the Koi patterns on 1x2 tiles and need help selecting colors.

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/cat...069bpb1167

On the first one I have selected Blue, White, Coral. Don't know about the last color.

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/cat...069bpb1180

This one has orange and reddish brown (as the title says) But the rest?
Might as well do these while I'm at it. So we have all the fish

  Technic 1982
Posted by: aefferen - 2024-02-11, 11:51 - Forum: Official Models - Replies (18)

Attached is the Lego set 8846 - Tow Truck from 1982.

Oke according to MPD Center 2.5.1.0

Done with MLcad.

Wheels are rubber-black
According to MPDcenter 2.5.1.0 is the file correct.
I added the new license: "Licensed under CC BY 4.0 : see CAreadme.txt" that is the only error MPD throws, because I can't find where to adjust this in MPD center.
Also added the thread files, however these files are delivered under the old license, I expect that should stay or can I change those files to new license as well?

Enjoy! Smile

  Are Smaug wings even possible?
Posted by: Richard - 2024-02-10, 16:27 - Forum: Part Requests - Replies (3)

Smaug parts:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?P=smaug01

wing folding left:
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/cat...9#T=C&C=59

wing folding right:
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/cat...9#T=C&C=59

The wing has rubber tissue/or all rubber. It folds with the tissue in the wingspan slot in-between the hinge that becomes closer or further bent based on how hinged the wing is. So it can't be made in two parts but also has to move.

No doubt about it: the best lego dragon wings... But if it's eventually made would they need to be static or have extended and folded versions or a third mid animation version or somehow work like some flex tube? Or a new system just to get it working for just 2 parts?
