I am trying to define a custom LDConfig.ldr for the 10220 - Volkswagen T1 Camper Van so that it takes less time to model, however, I am having a hard time identifying the exact color of some of the parts.

Unfortunately, peeron does not yet have an inventory of the set, so I can't just get the colors from there.

I took a picture of the parts I am having trouble with next to parts of similar color for reference. I tried to take the photo in the best light possible, I can take another if necessary.


Here's my attempt at identifying the colors:

1. Known to be 14 (Yellow). Provided for reference.
   
2. Slightly darker than part #1. Possibly 125 (Light_Orange) or 191 (Bright_Light_Orange)?
   
3. Known to be 2 (Green). Provided for reference.
   
4. Slightly lighter than part #3. Possibly 10 (Bright_Green), probably not 17 (Light_Green), possibly 74 (Medium_Green).
   
5. Not in the set, I think it's 38 (Trans_Neon_Orange).
   
6. In the set, I think it's 57 (Trans_Orange). Do i have #5 and #6 swapped?
   
7. Pretty sure it's 70 (Reddish_Brown) but may as well ask to be sure.
   
8. Pretty sure it's 6 (Brown).
   
9. Pretty sure it's 46 (Trans_Yellow).
   
10. Pretty sure it's 42 (Trans_Neon_Green). Do i have #9 and #10 swapped?
    
11. No clue here.
    
12. I've always believed this color to be 19 (Tan) but seeing #11 makes me wonder.

Rescently I have been getting to grips with bricksmith/LDraw, but when making a part using the script window I have to save the file then load it in the viewer window so I can see what it looks like as an image. I , and maybe others would like to have some way of automatically altering the graphical presence of the part whenever the script of the file of the part is lt alterred, note that this means having both a script window open and LDraw.

This an be done by having a shell command that enables LDraw to alter the grapic when a change in the script is returned to LDraw.

This means we would not have to keep saving the code and reopening the file in LDraw.
Either a regular text window program such as terminal or noteapad could work or a tool built into LDraw could also work, not sure which one is best.

I am referring to the little
(1 new)
that shows up on the front page when there are unread messages.

I would prefer if that text were bold, like so:
(1 new)

because then it would stand out more when quickly scrolling the page as well as not require me to zoom in on my phone to just quickly check if there is anything new.

That text is in a span with class "new-flag" and just adding

Having looked at the awesome 3D printer results,
I think the next 10 years will be the "years of 3D printing".
Simply everybody will 3D print at home - I cannot even imagine in full
what this will mean to creativity... Amazing...

So at a party I recently had the opportunity to properly play dreidel for the first time and it was fun. I'm sure this has been done many times before, but here's a simple dreidel model. Use colors of your choice for the sides (or stickers, markers, etc.).

I'm firmly of the opinion that we need to get the flex parts out there. I don't care how but we need part numbers and parts and every length that has appeared in a set. In my opinion it is quite terrible for users of LDraw to have no easy access to usable parts that could be auto-generated in seconds by some of us.

So far the release has been held because of technical issues with the library. This is no reason to not have the parts out there as we can always replace them if a decision is made.

So my proposal:

1) We quickly come up with a naming system

2) We auto-generate self-contained parts in all appropriate lengths (I already have perl code for this)

3) We submit one of these to the Part Tracker

4) Once it is certified we adjust the others to take into account comments and put them up

4) If the system is changed in the future we auto-generate again

I have the ability to add syntax highlighting site wide (forums, wiki, the upcoming main site). It works for most common programming languages but there's no module for LDraw syntax. Before I waste time writing a module for LDraw syntax, is this something that would be of interest?
