[TOOL] MLCad Parts List to Bricklink Wanted List
Posted by: Kai Fenner - 2012-09-18, 17:53 - Forum: LDraw File Processing and Conversion - Replies (5)

Hi,

you may convert MLCad parts lists to Bricklink wanted list (http://www.bricklink.com//wantedXML.asp Wanted List Mass Upload)) online at

http://mlcad2bricklink.com/

Doing so lets you search all needed parts for a MOC at once.

The Tool is beta! It does not reflect differences in part numbering between MLCad and Bricklink. Simply becaus I just don't them. The tool's language should be english unless you browser with german settings. At the moment it just supports copy & paste.

Kai

How do we handle obsolete official subparts?
Posted by: Nils Schmidt - 2012-09-18, 9:53 - Forum: Parts Authoring - Replies (5)

..I did not find the answer to this simple question on the following pages:

File Types FAQ
File Format 1.0.2
Tracker FAQ

In addition to that question, I would like to know if it is allowed to change the orientation of official subparts.

As requested here a new colour, Rubber Orange (LDraw code 350) has been added to LDConfig.ldr. Thanks to Scott Wardlaw for turning the request around so quickly.

The colour table has been updated and the new file can be downloaded here.

  Where did these parts go?
Posted by: Nikola Kovacs - 2012-09-15, 21:03 - Forum: Parts Authoring - Replies (13)

I've downloaded an l3b file (a model of the Lego 8070 Supercar) from a forum, and when I try to open it, it comes up with a bunch of missing parts. Some of them I was able to find, but I'm still missing a few, and I can't find them, for example, when I search for 58124s03.dat, I get a google result for http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cg...124s03.dat, but that page says the part wasn't found. But the page did exist, I found it on archive.org: http://web.archive.org/web/2010120509483...124s03.dat

Why has this part been deleted? Why can't I find it anywhere?

Here are all the parts that the model needs and I can't find:
U9112.DAT
U9113.DAT
58124s03.dat
x882.dat

  Utility search
Posted by: Kevin Roach - 2012-09-12, 13:56 - Forum: Help - Replies (10)

I was wondering if there is a utility that can generate a cylinder of a given radius, centered on the line between two points. If I had this would be so helpful. The cylinder result would come out as an n-ncyli.dat file. Generated from the first point with the same orientation as the line.

  LDPatternCreator - Release 1.4.2
Posted by: Nils Schmidt - 2012-09-10, 7:08 - Forum: Parts Author Tools - Replies (2)

Hey,

Here is the "answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything": LPC 1.4.2 Wink

Please uninstall older versions of this software before installing a new version.
Your configuration won't be deleted if you have already version greater than 1.3.1 installed on your machine.

Change log:

New features:

  • You can deselect objects with the selection rectangle while pressing CTRL.
  • You can copy+paste the transformation matrices or vertex coordinates with 1 click.
  • You can toggle the visibility of the BG image (with Ctrl+B).
  • You can use a shortkey to dis-/enable the grid (Ctrl+G) / axis label (Ctrl+L).
  • The previous mode will be restored after closing the preview.
  • You can use a recent file list.
  • The French language file is improved.
Fixed bugs from 1.4.1 and older:
  • The file loader crashes because of side-effects from 1.3.8.
  • Zoom with +/- does not work in preview mode.
  • The program crashes when a single group was created, deleted and saved.
  • Other minor bugs.

(see full list of tickets for 1.4.2)

I included a short readme.htm in the installation directory.

Cheers & Leg Godt

Nils

Thumbs Up "Spooky" Gate Parts
Posted by: Shannon - 2012-09-09, 22:22 - Forum: Part Requests - Replies (3)

Hi there... I'm working on designing a Graveyard to go with the Monster Fighters Haunted House.
I'm using the "Gate" that came with the set... but LDraw seems to be missing the curved gate pieces.
I'd appreciate them getting onto someones "to do" list!

x230 - Door 1 x 4 x 9 Arched with Bars and Three Studs (Image)
