  Parts Admin certifier
Posted by: Orion Pobursky - 2022-01-14, 14:59 - Forum: Parts Tracker Discussion - Replies (3)

As discussed elsewhere, I'm now the current admin reviewer for the Pt. I volunteered for this specifically because I'm the only long time reviewer that also had very few certify votes on the current parts. The way the software in structured, once you become an admin, all your certify vote become admin certify votes. This mean someone else will have to go back and provide a second normal certify to any parts that had only 2 certify votes, one of which is yours. (Did I lose anyone yet?).

All this means that I am happy to stay in this role as long as it takes to either update or replace the PT software to prevent this.

  Chris Dee, Long time Part Library Admin, is stepping down
Posted by: Orion Pobursky - 2022-01-13, 18:30 - Forum: LDraw.org Announcements - Replies (12)

After careful consideration, Chris Dee has decided to step down as the LDraw.org Parts Library Administrator. Chris has been an invaluable asset to LDraw.org for 25+ years and his contributions to LDraw during his almost 20 year stint as the Parts Library Admin are numerous. He was directly responsible for the release of 35 parts updates (over 12000 new parts!), in 2008 oversaw the monumental undertaking of shifting the Parts Library licensing model, was a founding member id the LDraw.org Steering Committee, and served as the chair of the LDraw.org Standards Board. For all these efforts he was awarded the James Jessiman Memorial Award in 2017.

Orion Pobursky will be taking over his duties while a replacement Parts Admin is found. Any long time parts reviewers are invited to volunteer to fill this role. Chris will retain the ability to admin review parts on the Parts Tracker should he choose to do so.

Chris has been a good collaborator and a good friend. He presence here at LDraw.org will be sorely missed.

Sent of behalf of the LDraw.org Steering Committee

Note: Chris is still part of the forums. Well wishing or stories are highly encouraged.

  Part Designer Import Image error?
Posted by: Neme287 - 2022-01-12, 22:04 - Forum: Help - Replies (1)

Can someone explain how do I fix this? I import this image (1st image), to the head model (2nd image), but when I import it to Stud.io, it changes to something else (3rd image). What has gone wrong? How do I fix it?

  Multiple parts' models missing, parts errors and parts needed
Posted by: Adam Rojewski - 2022-01-06, 16:48 - Forum: Part Requests - No Replies

Hi! I'm new member of this forum and registered especially for posting this thread. When I was preparing files in Stud.io (earlier I worked on LDCad) for sets I own, I noticed that some parts are unavailable and there are no info about them in forum. These parts are:
for set 3544 (all parts can be seen at https://rebrickable.com/sets/3544-1/game-set/#parts ):
- 43559, 44791, 44845, 44846, 44847, 44849, 44850, 44851, 71509, 45535a, 45535b, 45535c, upn0173;
for set 8568 ( https://rebrickable.com/parts/43559/larg...er-armour/ ):
- 43559 (which also comes in 3544 mentioned earlier);
for set 42027 ( https://rebrickable.com/parts/56823c50/s...thin-50cm/ ):
- 56823c50 (there are other projects, but not in this dimension);
for set 8216 ( https://rebrickable.com/parts/3298pr0036...lag-print/ ):
- 3298pr0036;

Moreover, and I don't know if it is Stud.io thing, but I also noticed it in LDCad, some parts have wrong part code in Bill of Materials. They use correct .dat file, but number generated by program is totally different. These parts are:
- 32126 from set 8236 (named 44), https://rebrickable.com/parts/32126/tech...nt-smooth/ ,
- 3069bpr0101 from set 42116 (named 3070bpx19), https://rebrickable.com/parts/3070bpr023...uge-print/ ,
- 3070bpr0235 from set 42116 (named 3070bpb180), https://rebrickable.com/parts/3069bpr030...ons-print/ ,
- 59443 from sets 42004 and 42116 (named 6538c), https://rebrickable.com/parts/59443/tech...ientation/ ,
- 32123a from set 8217 (named 4265c), https://rebrickable.com/parts/32123a/tec...e-reduced/ .

And I almost forgot to mention that part 78c03 has wrong length in all editors. It should be 3L, but in program it looks like 2,5L or smth. Picture added to the post. Link to part:
https://rebrickable.com/parts/78c03/hose...-7mm-d-3l/

As an addition I ould like to say that some parts that you are working on are very important to me. I noticed they are ready, but they only need certicifcation to be official. I can use them as unofficials, but the part codes are not generated by Stud.io unfortunately. All of them come from recent set 42116 and are fresh replacement for old parts of their kind:
- 42195, 42924, 44874, 65487, 65489.
Links to all those parts below on LDraw Parts Tracker:
https://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.c.../42195.dat
https://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.c.../42924.dat
https://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.c.../44874.dat
https://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.c.../65487.dat
https://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.c.../65489.dat

Just curious, when do you expect to release another parts update? Last was like in 2020, am I right?

  LeoCad M1 Support
Posted by: Mateusz - 2022-01-06, 11:16 - Forum: General LDraw.org Discussion - Replies (4)

×

Hey, do you know if there is a LeoCad build that has native support for Apple Silicon processors? If not, is there any other program with native M1 support? The Rosset 2 LeoCad works very well, but during more demanding renders, the temperature rises quickly and the program consumes a lot of MacBook resources.
