  LDraw All-In-One-Installer 2022-01 v1 now available
Posted by: Willy Tschager - 2022-01-30, 18:01 - Forum: LDraw.org Announcements - Replies (9)

An updated version of the LDraw All-In-One-Installer, in short AIOI, containing the LDraw Parts Library update 2022-01 with 821 new files (including 568 new parts and 22 new primitives) has been released.

The AIOI supports Windows XP (Home and Pro), Windows Vista or higher (all versions). There are two installer files available: Use the 64 Bit AIOI to install all the main 64 Bit programs, while the older 32 Bit programs are offered in a separated .exe file. Please note that only the 64 Bit version contains the LDraw Parts Library. If you want to use the 32 Bit programs it is mandatory that the library has been installed previously. The Installer will NOT run on Windows 95, 98, ME, NT Ver 4, 2000, or XP below SP2.

It contains the following changes:

* Update to Parts Library 2022-01
* Update to MLCad.ini 2022-01
* Update to Offline Parts Catalog 2022-01
* Update to LeoCAD 21.01
* Update to LPub3D 2.4.3.0.2557

You can download the AIOI from:

LDraw.org >> Help >> Get Started >> Windows >> LDraw All-In-One-Installer

Many thanks to all the programmers who contributed to this release.

  Part 6059/12818/35165
Posted by: Willy Tschager - 2022-01-29, 18:11 - Forum: Parts Tracker Discussion - Replies (3)

I'd like to discuss Panel 3 x 3 x 6 Corner Convex with Curved Top. We have currently:

https://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.c...s/6059.dat - Panel  3 x  3 x  6 Corner Round
https://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.c.../12818.dat - Panel  3 x  3 x  6 Corner Round Reinforced

on the PT while BL knows also 35165 which is presumably the trans version.

However I'm unsure about the stud. There are pictures with solid as well as hollow studs on the net. Which belong so which version?

  Part 92547.dat

This group of parts uses the category "Figure Accessory" (except for the linked one which is an error). I think they should be renamed  and recategorized to "Turntable" to better sync with the rest of the inventory sites:

  MLCad.ini 2022-01 update now available
Posted by: Willy Tschager - 2022-01-26, 16:31 - Forum: LDraw.org Announcements - No Replies

Hi folks,

I just updated the MLCad.ini file accordingly to the latest LDraw.org parts update 2022-01. The .ini file defines (among other things) the parts available in MLCad's, LEOCad's and Bricksmith's minifigure generator.

Download the file from my website: http://www.holly-wood.it/mlcad/mlcad_ini-en.html

Bye, w.

  Technic Bionicle vs. Constraction
Posted by: Orion Pobursky - 2022-01-25, 5:09 - Forum: Parts Tracker Discussion - Replies (9)

I think everything with "Technic Bionicle ..." should be retitled "Constraction ..." with "Bionicle" added as a KEYWORD.

Thoughts?

  Primitive or Subpart

Hi there,

I'm a bit unsure, if these file should be logo prims or subparts (or primitive subparts with tilde):

logofordb01.dat
logofordb02.dat
logofordl01.dat
logofordl02.dat

What do you think about?

  Need more time.

Orion,

A clean-up of the Part Tracker is long overdue and it's good to see that it's now started.
I know you as a Doer. Act now, and reflect and correct later. Myself, I'm an Analyst, and as such I know I need a Doer to push on.

But as a more analytical person I need more time to reflect and think. I think things are maybe moving too fast right now.
Could you please give us time to catch up and think, instead of a couple of days maybe a week or two, before you go ahead?
