I plan on taking the entire library site down for extended maintenance sometime this weekend. I need to clean up the cruft left over from development and streamline some processes hogging up server memory. Depending on how it goes this could last as little as a few hours or, worse case, both days.
I will update this post if the plan changes.

Hello, my name is Dongjin Choi and I am using ldcad in Korea. I want to ask about how to make stickers. I am making a sticker that is not detailed by making a lot of dots on 'Ld Pattern Creator' with the image I received from Google. Is there a way to scan a bitmap image with a dat file? How do other people make amazingly detailed stickers? I would really appreciate it if you could let me know. I request the set number 10299 sticker and how do I make it like the set number 10273 sticker? I have an image.

Hey,
this release will provide four small improvements.
![[Image: attachment.php?aid=12753]](https://forums.ldraw.org/attachment.php?aid=12753)
As always, you can download LDPE from this page:
http://nilsschmidt1337.github.io/ldparteditor/
Changelog:
(4 new features)
With this release you will be able to...
- ...benefit from a new Rectifier default setting (it will not convert quad to rect when the quad has adjacent condlines by default (results in smoother surfaces)).
- ...use the "Copy" command on the icon bar at the bottom of the tab, mirrored from the contextual of the "Problems" tab
- ...have a single background bounding rectangle for the whole string (txt2dat).
- ...use an alternative option to not have a background but only the characters themselves (txt2dat).
The program was tested intensively with "real world" files.
However, something can go wrong in about 140.000 lines of code.
Installation on Windows:
- Download and extract LDPartEditor_win32_x64.zip
- Run LDPartEditor-1.8.64.msi
- Start LDPartEditor from the start menu
Installation on Linux:
- Download and extract LDPartEditor_linux_x64.zip
- Install ldparteditor_1.8.64-1_amd64.deb
- Start LDPartEditor from the menu or via launcher
Installation on Mac OS X:
- Download and extract LDPartEditor_mac_x64.zip
- Mount LDPartEditor-1.8.64.dmg
- Drag LDPartEditor.app to the Applications folder
- Copy ldparteditor.sh to your home folder
4a. Open a Terminal.app and run ./ldparteditor.sh
4b. Or open a Terminal.app and run /Applications/LDPartEditor.app/Contents/MacOS/LDPartEditor
I listen carefully to your requests and possible complaints. Please leave me a message, with your thoughts and wishes to further improve the software.
LDPE is a 3D CAD application: The overall system requirements are higher. While I recommend to use a powerful 64-bit multicore system, it could be possible, to run LDPE on older machines as well.
System Requirements:
Minimum System Requirements:
- OpenGL 2.1 compatible Graphics Card
- Operating System (64-bit): Windows [7 or newer], Linux [e.g. Ubuntu Linux >=14.4], Mac OS X [>=10.6]
- CPU: Multicore-Processor e.g. Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon II (>2.0Ghz)
- RAM: 4GB
- Video-Memory: 1 GB
- Free Disk Space: 100 MB
Recommended Requirements:
- Operating System (64bit): Windows 7,8,10, Linux [e.g. Ubuntu Linux >=14.4], Mac OS X [>=10.6]
- OpenGL 3.3 compatible Graphics Card
- CPU: Multicore-Processor with 4 cores (or more)
- RAM: >4 GB
- Video-Memory: >1 GB
- Free Disk Space: 512 MB
- For a faster start, LDPartEditor and the LDraw™ library should be installed on an SSD.

| invalid utf8 in part 2902 (2902s1.dat) |

Hello! I'm new to these forums, so sorry if this is the wrong place. I'm working on code to load ldraw files and noticed that not all parts seem to use valid utf8. The file "LDraw\parts\s\2902s01.dat" contains comment lines that don't decode properly as utf8 in programming languages like Python or Rust due to a missing continuation byte. The comment renders in some editors as "0 Cran creus". I would expect the e with an accent to be C3A9 in hex, but the file is only using the single byte E9. The entire phrase appears in the file as 3020 4372616E 20637265 7573E9. LDView displays the text just fine as "0 Cran creusé". Is this part valid? Should programs match the behavior of LDView?

| Pagination on lists |

The parts list and search were designed in an era when there were hundreds of parts and no thumbnails. Now with thousands of parts and images it bogs down page loading or is causing out of memory error especially the parts list or searches with a large amount of search results.
Does any have any persuasive opinions on why pagination should not be used?
