Shorter 8mm CV joint from set 42160

Hi,

I would like to submit a new part.

I think It looks fine in LDCAD and I don't see any problems but have posted it here just to double check.

I am waiting for sariel or kbalage (RacingBrick) to give me the proper part ID's, according to the sets inventory it has the element ID of 4447240. Here is the LDRAW script:

It is similar, but 1L shorter where the axle is. So its a new part that premiered in set 42160

OK that's why we cannot find its design ID yet. It's better to wait for it before uploading the part on PT. In the meantime have you applied to become an author as described here

What happens with this part in progs that don't support LDCad metas, such as LeoCAD or MLCad?

IMHO this won't make it through the PT.

I got the part ID now, its 4192. Someone who got the set early gave me it on eurobricks.

I'm not good enough to understand about MLCAD and LEOCAD metas etc, I made this part by just modifying a copy of the file of the longer variant of this part.

I'll check the link shortly.

Willy was refering to the line 0 !LDCAD SNAP_CYL [gender=M] [caps=none]
This is a meta command specific to LDCAD to add connectivity info. It is not supported by other CAD programs so it must be removed before uploading the part on LDraw's PT

Hello; I have few questions: it's safe to submite a part that it is not been released yet?. Also, regarding to part 52730: I checked the Lego Builder App and it have a diferent number 46841 so: is this number an alias of these part, it's a totally diferent part, or is a wrong number on the app?

52760 is the correct part ID , this is the CV joint with a 3L axle, where as the part I'm talking about has a 2L axle and is light bluish gray rather than dark bluish gray, it came out in set 42160.

Google doesn't give any results for '46841'.

Yes, parts that are not yet released sometimes do get released on the unofficial parts library.

About the release: it's my bad; I'm talking about the real life release not the ldraw release.

Nope, I don't know how to make parts in LDraw unless maybe theyre very simple and are based on existing parts that I can borrow script from.
