Shorter 8mm CV joint from set 42160 - SNIPE - 2023-07-06 Hi, I would like to submit a new part. I think It looks fine in LDCAD and I don't see any problems but have posted it here just to double check. I am waiting for sariel or kbalage (RacingBrick) to give me the proper part ID's, according to the sets inventory it has the element ID of 4447240. Here is the LDRAW script: Code: 0 Technic Steering Constant Velocity 8mm Joint Female With 2L Axle RE: Shorter 8mm CV joint from set 42160 - Vincent Messenet - 2023-07-10 (2023-07-06, 19:35)SNIPE Wrote: I am waiting for sariel or kbalage (RacingBrick) to give me the proper part ID's, according to the sets inventory it has the element ID of 4447240. It really looks like 52730 which is already in the library: https://library.ldraw.org/official/9999 RE: Shorter 8mm CV joint from set 42160 - SNIPE - 2023-07-10 (2023-07-10, 11:08)Vincent Messenet Wrote: It really looks like 52730 which is already in the library: https://library.ldraw.org/official/9999 It is similar, but 1L shorter where the axle is. So its a new part that premiered in set 42160 RE: Shorter 8mm CV joint from set 42160 - Vincent Messenet - 2023-07-10 (2023-07-10, 16:01)SNIPE Wrote: It is similar, but 1L shorter where the axle is. So its a new part that premiered in set 42160 OK that's why we cannot find its design ID yet. It's better to wait for it before uploading the part on PT. In the meantime have you applied to become an author as described here https://www.ldraw.org/ptfaq.html? RE: Shorter 8mm CV joint from set 42160 - Willy Tschager - 2023-07-10 What happens with this part in progs that don't support LDCad metas, such as LeoCAD or MLCad? IMHO this won't make it through the PT. w. I got the part ID now, its 4192. Someone who got the set early gave me it on eurobricks. I'm not good enough to understand about MLCAD and LEOCAD metas etc, I made this part by just modifying a copy of the file of the longer variant of this part. I'll check the link shortly. Willy was refering to the line 0 !LDCAD SNAP_CYL [gender=M] [caps=none] This is a meta command specific to LDCAD to add connectivity info. It is not supported by other CAD programs so it must be removed before uploading the part on LDraw's PT RE: Shorter 8mm CV joint from set 42160 - SNIPE - 2023-07-12 (2023-07-12, 6:17)Vincent Messenet Wrote: Willy was refering to the line 0 !LDCAD SNAP_CYL [gender=M] [caps=none] Ah ok, done: RE: Shorter 8mm CV joint from set 42160 - Javier Orquera - 2023-07-12 Hello; I have few questions: it's safe to submite a part that it is not been released yet?. Also, regarding to part 52730: I checked the Lego Builder App and it have a diferent number 46841 so: is this number an alias of these part, it's a totally diferent part, or is a wrong number on the app? the info from the part reads: "Name": "CARDAN CUP W/ CROSS AXLE, NO. 2", curious isn't? Google doesn't give any results for '46841'. Yes, parts that are not yet released sometimes do get released on the unofficial parts library. I know the part 52760 and that is why I am asking for the number given in the app. About the release: it's my bad; I'm talking about the real life release not the ldraw release. RE: Shorter 8mm CV joint from set 42160 - Mark Kennedy - 2023-08-06 There seems to be some edge lines missing on the end of the axle. Sorry for late reply, Nope, I don't know how to make parts in LDraw unless maybe theyre very simple and are based on existing parts that I can borrow script from. But feel free to finish it if needs must!. RE: Shorter 8mm CV joint from set 42160 - Magnus Forsberg - 2023-09-22 (2023-09-22, 3:45)SNIPE Wrote: But feel free to finish it if needs must!.
