  encoding some Technic tubing
Posted by: Franklin W. Cain - 2024-10-01, 16:53 - Forum: Help - Replies (5)

I need some assistance, please. For a specific model I'm working on, I need to plot out two lengths of Technic flexible tubing (specifically, to serve as fuel lines for the model in question.)

I've managed to plot the general path of the tubing, as show in this image.

Here is the current version of the complete model:

.mpd   airship, personal.mpd (Size: 36.46 KB / Downloads: 2)

Thanks,
Franklin

Sticker Printing Quality versus what we see in the LEGO Builder App
Posted by: Gerald Lasser - 2024-10-01, 13:52 - Forum: Parts Authoring - Replies (5)

I was just about to review this set of prints and I am in kind of a dilemma...

https://library.ldraw.org/sticker-sheets/433

and found a good reference picture:
https://cdn.toypro.com/media/cache/tp_pr...82492.webp

the LDraw files and the reference show the very prominit "black" or rather "dark" line between colours and as outline.

However in the app, there is no such line, i.e. blue is directly next to DGB.

When I look at the photo of the stickers I would rather say keep this specific line, any opinions on this very case?

In other files one can really see that the line was due do accidental overlaps respectively overlaps by design

Plate 1 x 2 with Cube with Minecraft Sheep Pattern
Posted by: Willy Tschager - 2024-09-30, 9:20 - Forum: Parts Authoring - Replies (9)

We have now two almost identical files:

19727p00 - https://library.ldraw.org/tracker/24108

19727p04 - https://library.ldraw.org/tracker/24111

First, this comes only in white:

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/cat...=1#T=C&C=1

which would require to remove the white square, on the other side we have patterns where we added the color of the part to the pattern.

I would eliminate one of these two patterns, but I don't feel strong about. If both stay the white square has to be added back to 19727p00. Thoughts?

LDraw.org 2024-08 Parts Update Now Available
Posted by: Orion Pobursky - 2024-09-30, 4:38 - Forum: LDraw.org Announcements - Replies (3)

The 2024-08 LDraw Parts Update has been released. This update adds 864 new files to the core library, including 540 new parts and 12 new primitives.

Thanks are due to all the part authors who created or corrected parts for this release. The small, but dedicated, band of reviewers also play an important role in keeping files moving through the Parts Tracker and deserve just as much credit. This update wouldn't have been possible without their dedication and attention to detail.

This update also includes a new LDConfig with Dark Bluish Grey Rubber and a better defined Fabuland Red

You can preview the new parts in 2024-08 here, and download the zip-file update or Windows install package here.

Thank you to all the testers and parts authors who continue giving feedback on the new PT software. This project would not be what it is without your help.

[LDPE] 1.8.89 Released (bugfix for: hashtags / manipulator / CSG)
Posted by: Nils Schmidt - 2024-09-27, 16:59 - Forum: Parts Author Tools - Replies (10)

Hey,

just as promised, here is another quality-of-life release.

As always, you can download LDPE from this page:

http://nilsschmidt1337.github.io/ldparteditor/

Changelog:

(4 bug fixes)

With this release the following critical issues are fixed:

  1. Descriptions containing a hashtag # are modified by unrelated quick fixes.
  2. The movement type of the manipulator changes if, during the move, the mouse gets close enough to a plane move square.
  3. The CSG tree does not switch back to a higher quality if the manipulator was moved and nothing CSG releated was selected.
  4. The MacOS X ARM installer package was still indicating a 1.8.80 version, but the contents were newer.

The program was tested intensively with "real world" files.
However, something can go wrong in about 140.000 lines of code.

Installation on Windows:

  1. Download and extract LDPartEditor_win32_x64.zip
  2. Run LDPartEditor-1.8.89.msi
  3. Start LDPartEditor from the start menu
Installation on Linux:

  1. Download and extract LDPartEditor_linux_x64.zip
  2. Install ldparteditor_1.8.89-1_amd64.deb
  3. Start LDPartEditor from the menu or via launcher
Installation on Mac OS X:

  1. Download and extract LDPartEditor_mac_x64.zip
  2. Mount LDPartEditor-1.8.89.dmg
  3. Drag LDPartEditor.app to the Applications folder
  4. Copy ldparteditor.sh to your home folder
        4a. Open a Terminal.app and run ./ldparteditor.sh
        4b. Or open a Terminal.app and run /Applications/LDPartEditor.app/Contents/MacOS/LDPartEditor

I listen carefully to your requests and possible complaints. Please leave me a message, with your thoughts and wishes to further improve the software.

LDPE is a 3D CAD application: The overall system requirements are higher. While I recommend to use a powerful 64-bit multicore system, it could be possible, to run LDPE on older machines as well.

System Requirements:

Minimum System Requirements:
  • OpenGL 2.1 compatible Graphics Card
  • Operating System (64-bit): Windows [7 or newer], Linux [e.g. Ubuntu Linux >=14.4], Mac OS X [>=10.6]
  • CPU: Multicore-Processor e.g. Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon II (>2.0Ghz)
  • RAM: 4GB
  • Video-Memory: 1 GB
  • Free Disk Space: 150 MB
Recommended Requirements:
  • Operating System (64bit): Windows 7,8,10,11, Linux [e.g. Ubuntu Linux >=14.4], Mac OS X [>=10.6]
  • OpenGL 3.3 compatible Graphics Card
  • CPU: Multicore-Processor with 4 cores (or more)
  • RAM: >4 GB
  • Video-Memory: >1 GB
  • Free Disk Space: 500 MB
  • For a faster start, LDPartEditor and the LDraw™ library should be installed on an SSD.

  File size limit for upload?
Posted by: Evert-Jan Boer - 2024-09-25, 18:36 - Forum: Help - Replies (1)

I seem to hit a file size limit for a large sticker (a little over 2Mb), is there a way to get this uploaded beside sending it by mail to an admin?
