Missing templates in LDCad - Roland Melkert - 2024-12-06 Hello all. Before I release LDCad 1.7 beta 2 I also want to update its default template collection. For this I'm looking to compile a list of missing flexible parts. So if you have any suggestions on what to add (or change) please let me know here. RE: Missing templates in LDCad - N. W. Perry - 2024-12-07 Not a missing template, but something I've always wondered… What is (or is supposed to be) the difference between the Technic flex system hose and the rigid 3mm hose? I know that the flex system hose is the sheath for flex system cables from the late 90s, and the rigid hose presumably refers to the decorative tubes that are used in modern sets, but do these actually represent different real-world parts? The existing templates are slightly different, but identical at a glance. Should they just be merged into one template? A similar question (that has come up before) is whether the pneumatic hose is different from the pre-pneumatic era rubber hoses used in some early Technic and Space sets. Finally, I have made some improvements for my own use to the Technic ribbed hose that seems to better match the correct dimensions. (Basically the ribs are a bit fatter and more rounded.) If there is interest I'd be happy to share my files (though this might have to go in hand with updating the static parts in the library). RE: Missing templates in LDCad - Rene Rechthaler - 2024-12-07 the parts are not availiable with cable: https://library.ldraw.org/parts/32654 (the other one isnt done yet, wanted to get this one checked) could be like the motors with flexible cable attached RE: Missing templates in LDCad - Magnus Forsberg - 2024-12-07 Here are some examples I think are missing: The template for control stick 4592-4593 is not correct. The stick is misplaced. Use part 73587a.dat I can't find any of the rubber treads, like 71372, 3096, 486, 71735, 43903. Or do they only need to be in the static, formed shapes we have? How about Conveyor Belt 92713 ? How about all the Technic Chain Tread versions? 69900, 3873, 57518, 88323, 69910. I think they all share a common base geometry, so maybe one template cover them all? Minifig accessories 25375, Tassel Hanging 67100p01, Minifig Weapon Nunchaku with Black Handles 30218, Animal Clam 33009, Minifig Book 62698, Minifig Computer Laptop 4449, Minifig Suitcase 37172, Minifig Suitcase with Long Handle 93225, Minifig Spray Gun with Hose 93087, Animal Horse Friends Bridle 16981, Plant Vine with 10 Leaves 16L 2518c01, Plant Tree Palm with 7-Segmented Trunk Brown and Large Leaves 73828, Plant Vine with 8 Thorns 10L (don't remember if my copy is from Philo) 98567, Tool Belt 17L 67196, Bracelet 25L with 14 x 1 Studs 66821, Bracelet 25L with 14 x 2 Studs 65130, Strap 2 x 16 with End Rings String Braided with Studs, have been updated and use different flex sections 71149, String Braided 41L with End Studs 76065, String Braided 21L with End Studs and Minifig Grips There are 2 different chain geometries 30104 60169, is a new version with different length on the links. But like I wrote in pm nothing stops you from using unofficial part in your own templates. I've been thinking about removing a big chunk of them as its almost impossible to keep them up to date.
