LPub3D, how to update or new installation
Posted by: Manfred Schaefer - 2025-03-10, 16:37 - Forum: LDraw File Processing and Conversion - Replies (3)

Hello,
I am using LPub3D version 2.4.4 under Windows 10 and I wanted to update it, but the internal function 'Check for Updates' has no effect. I can find a zip file on the website in the download area, but it does not contain an installer.
Can someone tell me how I can install this program in windows.
Thank you.

Greetings

Manfred

Minifig Torso Shortcut Numbering and Questions
Posted by: Chris Böhnke - 2025-03-10, 0:36 - Forum: Parts Tracker Discussion - Replies (6)

All existing torsos should now have at least 1 assembly shortcut.

There are still ca. 54 possible combinations from existing files that could be made (and have a real counterpart), once numbering scheme is clear.

Note that this does NOT include plain torso assemblies or stickered ones.

973ph8 is still out there, but this one likely doesn't exist at all.

I am also sceptical towards the existence of this torso (which already has an assembly file):

Can anyone confirm it's existence? I only know of the one with backprint...

Are there any chances to get these bricks?  They are not in the building app so don't know where else to look for.

  advice on ring primitives
Posted by: Peter Blomberg - 2025-03-08, 21:39 - Forum: Parts Authoring - Replies (5)

I need a 1-6 ring primitive. It does not yet exist in the size I need or any size near the correct size. Which option is best?

a) create the 1-6 ring as a new primitive,
b) combine a 1-8 ring primitive with a rotated 1-24 ring primitive (both exist in a nearby size),
b) use the 1-8 ring as primitive and add the two missing segments as quads,
c) define all segments as quads, i.e. not use primitives.

  Non-SSL Access to LDraw.org
Posted by: Orion Pobursky - 2025-03-05, 18:37 - Forum: LDraw.org Announcements - No Replies

In a month or two I will doing my yearly rebuild of the server, when this happens:

I will be turning off all non-https routes for all ldraw.org domains

I realize this will most likely break some older programs and I apologize for that. Properly maintaining non-SSL access year to year is an administrative burden and adds unneeded complexity to the web server setup. The realities of the modern web dictate the SSL is the expected default.

  Interesting Technic Subparts
Posted by: SNIPE - 2025-03-03, 0:19 - Forum: Part Requests - Replies (2)

Hi,

I was reading through this article on this useful blog and noticed a few useful technic subparts, the first 2 are from part 34380
[Image: %7B8B7FE0B6-2CDC-4849-A543-0483E1E05BB1%7D.png]
One is an eyelet with a 1L (approx) axle, the other in some sort of click-y part.

The third part looks like it accepts a bionicle ball joint and it was used in the Lego constraction heads:

I was wondering if these could be made in LDRAW, I will buy the parts if needed because this is just too exciting!
there doesn't seem to be any other photos of the sub-parts on the web also

Regards, Snipe

  New Meta command PREVIEW
Posted by: Manfred Schaefer - 2025-03-01, 14:28 - Forum: Parts Tracker Discussion - Replies (10)

Hello,
I have noticed that Willy Tschager is using the new meta-comannd PREVIEW and uploading parts to the parts tracker. Is there a recommendation for the individual parts or specifications as to what the viewing angle should be. For example, the minifigure head 3626, frontal or rather from the top right or left?

Greetings

Manfred
