New Community System Soon To Be Released

New Community System Soon To Be Released
#1
Hey there,

My name is Demetree, and I'm a software developer and a Lego lover.

I'm working on a new system that I'm going to release in the next few months that should have something for everybody that loves Lego.

Here's a few links to some manuals that it created somebody out there might like to see.

It'll do stuff like this, and a whole lot more.

Cheers!

I've decided to pre-release it to anybody who wants to try it.  It's got lots of stuff in it, but there's more to come.

It is in pre-release mode, so all access is anonymous and is under the Admin user with the password of Admin.

I recommend you try the Universe, and Manual Builder tools

Have fun Smile

Feedback welcome.

In the colour section you only included the LDraw names for the colours. It may also be useful to include the Lego name. They are also included in the LDConfig file.

Another source for colour informations can be found on SetDB.

The post says you can use the account 'Admin' with the password 'Admin'.

Not yet.   For now, you can use it with a generic Admin / Admin user account so anybody can tinker and explore, ( and send me feedback on what you like and don't if you'd like to ).

This will be the case until I finish the feature set, and do a real product release, at which point it'll have a full signup and user management process  Smile

found some minor bugs (in the Parts catalog renders)
- sometimes coloring is wrong/missing
- the metal contact colors get displayed as black
- transparent areas (like in windows/doors) get painted in their corresponding transparent color
- prim subst hardly works (most prims get defaulted to normal res)
- sometimes it picks the wrong coloured shortcut

Thanks for the feedback!

Specifically:
  • In the colour section you only included the LDraw names for the colours. It may also be useful to include the Lego name. They are also included in the LDConfig file.  Another source for colour informations can be found on SetDB.
  • This is great info.   I'll implement the Lego colour name field, and source it from LDConfig and/or the SetDB link and add it to the data loader.  Great tip!

  • found some minor bugs (in the Parts catalog renders)
  • Good finds!   I think I'm going to have to deep dive into this one, but I'll see what I can do.    For client side rendering it's using threeJS, and I've not messed with it beyond the defaults much.  I've got some overall improvements coming to this particular component soon, and I'll see how many of these can come with it

Thanks!

Quick follow up on this - New version has been released that fixes the part colouring issue on the part details page, and now also adds a new tab for poseable 2 click server side rendering of the part.
