Howcome I can't pick and create a file based on 973p13? 76382p13 doesn't exist yet.

The helper only contain 973p13d01, and that makes it possible to create 76382p13d01, but is that double suffix a valid combination?
There is no sticker added in this shortcut.

I tried one just now (76382p1t.dat) but I'm not sure if it worked. After clicking the Submit button, nothing seemed to happen.

It probably some dumb permissions issue that doesn't manifest itself on my account since I have super user status.

- Where do I find it? I see no entry in the tools menu.
- a 3D preview button in the review and submit screen would be a nice touch...

This is now implemented.

- as far as I can tell, the Minifig Torso Generator doesn't allow me to create a second shortcut for a given torso (tried with 973puc, that has two different colors of hands)
- I still miss a menu entry somewhere that leads to Minifig Torso Generator Wink

This is intentional to help keep track of whats done. Maybe I'll figure out a filter toggle.

That was easier than I anticipated. Added.

How are the descriptions generated?

I want to change the description of all 973 torso using Female in their descriptions. Where do you think the word should be placed?

Minifig Torso Female with .... Pattern
or
Minifig Torso with Female .... Pattern

And where should "Female" be in the 76382 assemblies?
Is it possible to have it placed differently, or will that break the generator?

"Minifig Torso Female with .... Pattern" would imply a different base part...
so "Minifig Torso with Female .... Pattern" is be better

I have started to rename the torsos and shortcuts like this:

973:      "Minifig Torso with Female [description] Pattern"
76382:  "Minifig Torso with Arms and Hands with Female [description] Pattern"
and the other assembly shortcuts will also have "Female" directly after an initial with.

I want to have parts better sorted in themes, or grouped together.
There are some grouped prints based on a theme, such as SW, HP, and LOTR.
Some are missing that identifier, and where should Female be?

I don't think they all needs to be changed, but I will add the missing with in all the description that are missing it.

We are already more than halfway through the making of a complete set of torso shortcuts.
We have today made 429 shortcuts and have 795 torsos in the library.

Great work!

Why do the Na'vi use 99114, and Toy story use 87858, when the same arms are used in both?

Good question, there even seems to be a third version for which we don't know the number yet (from Madame Maxime/Harry Potter and Jack Skellington/Nightmare before Christmas) which were released after the Na'vi.

Typically Lego keeps these numbers for assemblies even after a certain break, like they did with the hook hand torso. Bricklink at least claims they are all identical Huh .

87858 is already in the generator.

I think uncolored, unpatterned base 99114 can be submitted as an alias. After it's on the tracker, I'll have to tweak the Torso Gen to use it correctly.

For now just use 87858 and we can move manually.
