Wheel 70 x 14 mm Futuristic

Wheel 70 x 14 mm Futuristic
#1
Hi to readers,

I want make some motorcycle models (and instructions) with this part/parts but they are not in library. I know they are fairly old parts but larger version of this part is available so it may be relatively easy to make CAD design.

Thanks

Edit: Part 32079 added.

Yeah, doesn't seem impossible to do... Can you provide good photos from several angles?

Edit: 32079 IS available! http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptscan.cgi?q=32079

I will try for good photos. Any advice for desired angles? By the way there are Ldraw renders including this parts in Blackbird's Technicopedia. How its possible?

Good catch... I found Koyan's model used by Blakbird: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=144163 . Unfortunately he cheated a bit and used the fat wheel, scaled 50%!

As for the photos, maybe not so many are needed, as I found some correct ones on Brickowl. What I need is
- a confirmation that the part is symmetrical (if not photo from both sides...)
- exact measurement of diameter and thickness (as a confirmation since dimentions are mentionned at BL)
- Outer diameter of tire while assembled on the wheel
- photo of the front of tire showing tread sculpture. Maybe this is not really needed as it seems that pattern is the same as a shrinked down 32078 (please confirm)

I am really appreciate your efforts and thanks for interest,

- Parts are symmetrical.
- Wheel diameter 58X14 mm, tire diameter 70x14 mm.
- Assembled tire/wheel diameter 70X14 mm.
- Yes, same pattern as 32078. Shrinked.

Thanks again for your interest.

Thanks again for your interest. I downloaded and copied file in to the folder but i cant see part in programs (stud.io, mlcad, leocad). What is my mistake?

I guess you forgot to download the subpart http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cg...057s01.dat and the torus primitive used by the subpart: http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cg...8i1818.dat

Alternatively you can download all unofficial parts here: http://www.ldraw.org/library/tracker/

In addition: in MLCad you need to update parts.lst (file -> scan parts)
For LeoCAD you may need to set it up to use a plain library (it defaults to use a zipped one), or place the unofficial zipped archive from parts tracker in LeoCAD program folder.
Note that stud.io has a special gestion of parts, so you may need to do more to see the part appear. But I'm not used to it...
Finally, if you use LDCad (highly recommended)... you have nothing special to do Wink
