To me, the mesh look really good.
Correct the origin and compare some vertices on left/right side. They match.
Add the 973.dat
Cut it in halves, make a subfile, and reduce away all unnecessary vertices. Many are on flat surfaces.
Remove the top stud, and add a 4-4cylc as neck pin. The surface around is probably flat. y=0
Replace the peg hole, and add a pinhole structure. Need a rework. Center at y=11
Seams hard to use a conhole primitiv.

The red thing on the chest might need more work to look good. I would add more vertices to make it "rounder".
Close all the gaps around the standard torso.
Add some kind of blocker to close the internal arm holes in 973.dat.
