Since you are going to use a SVG drawing, you may use other solutions avoiding the tedious manual triangulation.
The tools that works best for me is img4dat. It may seem a bit backwards to first export your drawing to a bitmap image before converting it again, but result is rather good.

I tried doing it in the Pattern Creator but it gave me a headache hahahahaa
Then I used img4dat and it worked pretty well.
