Maersk train minifigs (head and torso) - Bruno Altmann - 2020-11-22 Hi. It's my first post here, so I hope I am not doing anything wrong. I have almost finnished the set 10219-1 (Maersk Container Train). The only things I'm missing are a minifig head (3626bpb0331) and the torso (973pb0862). I tried doing it myself, but got overwhelmed by LD Part Editor and LD Pattern Creator. Could anyone guide me? Any help is apreciated. Like LD Pattern Creator Tutorials, high resolution images of the parts or help converting SVG to DAT. Thank you very much for your attention. Have a nice day. Unfortunately we are desperately lacking documentations/tutorials for most part editing tools. Some time ago I made this video that describes how to do a simple pattern with LDPC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vax5vvJH_Rs This is more or less what you need to do for the torso (flat pattern) but the head is significantly more tricky since it's 3D... I'll try to do it! Thank you very much. I followed your tutorial and it worked 100%. I will try doing the pattern on Inkscape first and then use it as a background on the LDPatternEditor, since the images I got were low-res and I had to change the perspective on Gimp. And nice job on the head. RE: Maersk train minifigs (head and torso) - Gerald Lasser - 2020-11-24 (2020-11-24, 2:33)Bruno Altmann Wrote: Thank you very much. Hi Bruno, here's a hires-scan 1200 DPI, the scaling factor in LDPC with im am using is usually 52,5 to 53 https://www.dropbox.com/s/wmomldhyvd47t4i/LEGO_Torso_973pb0862156.jpg?dl=0 Gerald RE: Maersk train minifigs (head and torso) - Philippe Hurbain - 2020-11-24 (2020-11-24, 2:33)Bruno Altmann Wrote: Thank you very much. The tools that works best for me is img4dat. It may seem a bit backwards to first export your drawing to a bitmap image before converting it again, but result is rather good. https://forums.ldraw.org/thread-23242-post-31099.html#pid31099 RE: Maersk train minifigs (head and torso) - Bruno Altmann - 2020-11-24 (2020-11-24, 7:57)Gerald Lasser Wrote: Hi Bruno, Awsome. Thank you very much. This is my first try on vector graphics. I tried doing it in the Pattern Creator but it gave me a headache hahahahaa Then I used img4dat and it worked pretty well. RE: Maersk train minifigs (head and torso) - Bruno Altmann - 2020-11-27 Ok. This was much harder than I thought would be. This is what I came up with: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1E3Jxjs1a3fF6Zqw3jEVJe0FsWPyh9FpV/view?usp=sharing Here is a render: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wNwYrotcuJXV-Hvbv2QK_PY2DegcmroM/view?usp=sharing RE: Maersk train minifigs (head and torso) - Philippe Hurbain - 2020-11-27 (2020-11-27, 3:09)Bruno Altmann Wrote: Ok. This was much harder than I thought would be....but it was worth the trouble, your file is great! Now if you want to go on and become a part author... - On the file itself, you need to change chrome silver (code 383) to metallic silver (code 80). 383 is too shiny to represent printed silver. - Change filename to use LDraw conventions. Find a logical place for your pattern in this chart https://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptpatterns.cgi?p=973. Somewhat tricky, I'd go with 973pu5. - Send email to [email protected] to get parts author priviliege - Submit your file to LDraw parts tracker https://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/tracker/submit.cgi RE: Maersk train minifigs (head and torso) - Bruno Altmann - 2020-11-28 (2020-11-27, 7:40)Philippe Hurbain Wrote: ...but it was worth the trouble, your file is great! Thank you very much. It is really good to hear it. I'm having some technical difficulties with my username, but will upload the file as soon as possible afer it's fixed.
