Thanks a lot for this tip and for the generator page, Roland! I needed this several times but I did not know there is already a solution. Instead, I simulated ldraw modelling in inkscape - you may imagine the pain
I use a program called GeoGebra for experimental drawings.

It is able to export as PNG or SVG, but has a lot of bugs and quirks that you have to take into account first, or there will be errors in the output.
The Geometer's Sketchpad is maybe better for artists since it natively supports pixel units (*very important*) and is less buggy. But it is expensive and has fewer advanced features.
