Just wondering in preparation of the LDCad animation HQ export feature.
No one has mentioned this, but there are also Sunflow and BlueRender.

One of these works for LDD models, the other works for LDraw models. I can't remember which is which, however. (Actually, I am very confused.)
You get pretty good quality renders for the time you invest in them, but the scene description language is lacking in features. And, the renderer is not-well documented in general.
