Part request Part 16280 (folded)

Part request Part 16280 (folded)
#1
Hi everyone!

Is there any chance that part 16208 (the roof in the Mini Cooper set 10242) could be released in a folded version?
I’d be thrilled if that happened!

Roof? Isn't that a pick-nick blankett?

Folding it would create a bunch of useless, unseen layers. No good.
So how do we do it? A thicker box with lots of edge lines on the sides? Random red pepita pattern on the sides?

Hi Magnus!
Yes, it is a pick-nick blankett!
(I used a translater, because of my bad English) .
I think a thicker box with lots of edge lines on the sides would be the best solution!
Best regards!

Probably a good idea, the folded minifig capes and skirts are the same I think.

Maybe the sides can be left monochrome. Depends on the end result I guess.

What's the flat size of this blanket, in mm?
BL only say 12.5x12.5 studs, and if I fold that I get 3x6 modules. Like a 3x6 tile.

On BrickLink, it is listed as 10 x 10 cm.
When converted, that matches your measurements!

Maybe similar to the way they do fake "folded" towels in the shops:

Yes! That's it!
I don't think any further details are necessary.
Thank you very much!

I wonder if the folded edges ought to be rounded? Or at least, use condlines where the fabric folds over itself, and edge lines only between layers?

The files are now updated and the white colour removed.

Something’s not quite right with the colour scheme now.
When I switch to red, the check pattern is red and grey; when I switch to white, it’s white and grey (see pictures)
There’s something wrong with the corners too.

The 20004 is the "fabric" version of 4-red, the part itself should be colored in 20015 - fabric white (not the normal "plastic" 15 white)
would a part color code keyword help? (with cmdline)
Code:
0 !CMDLINE 20015

Do you have the latest version of ldconfig.ldr installed? The one with the textile colours.
What software are you using to build/view the part? Some SW may be unable to use the textile colour codes.

Yes, I have the latest ldconfig.ldr installed.

Since I’m not very familiar with LDCad (but I’m learning!), I mostly still use MLCAD.
That’s where the color problem with color numbers > 511 occurs!!!
But I think I can figure out a solution for that.

Edit: Found a solution using available free color numbers < 511!
:-)
