Comments?

I tested a bit, it would be better to make a subpart for the rounded thigh (quads+condlines). Otherwise texmapped parts are not smoothed correctly by LDView.

Okay, if you got the prim ready I suggest to submit it to 3817c or whatever and copy the whole geometry to the 3816 subparts (which have to be created).

??? why? 3816 just has to use mirrored 3817 primitives? (and no, I have nothing ready...)

I'm probably jumping the gun, mentioning this (since you say it's a work in progress, and I'm GUESSING you're planning on introducing some primitives for the upper thigh curve?) but I used 3817b and 3816b for some TEXMAP work today, and it would be much more useful if you "unwound" this part and put all the primitives in place, rather than mirroring the other leg; for the purposes of decoration (TEXMAP _or_ traditional).

Do I missunderstand something here?

I don't think so Wink
But I see no reason why not reuse the mirrored subparts, it works very well, see http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cg...10dc01.dat and http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cg...10cc01.dat
