Possible new handle primitive - Javier Orquera - 2025-02-25

Hello, I'm working on part 4972 (Hylian Shield) and I think it is ready to be submited.
But first I have some questions regarding the handle: the description I use is "Handle for Flat Shields - Variant": is it OK?. The file name is handle3.dat, may I keep it or I need to change to another one (example: handlea.dat)?.
This is because of the similarity with handle.dat. I appreciate your opinions. Attached an image of my work on the handle:

No clear opinion yet for naming, but your screenshot shows a lot of needless chamfers! This looks very much alike the existing handle.dat...

I agree. Looks to be the same handle.

Do you have photos of the real design?

Further more, pardon me for dropping a bomb, but the old primitive handle.dat and handle2.dat are wrong.
But if we change it all shields need a rework ....

This method is used in the headlight of the Mini Cooper - 10242, but not possible in LDraw.
The handle is off by 1 ldu.

The only pic I found for the real design: https://images.brickset.com/news/112745_77092-22.jpg

Here is a comparison of both handles:

Note: just in case, it is not my intention to replace the official primitive (handle.dat); I only followed the shape of the app's 3d mesh and did it as a variant of the handle.dat

Interestingly our geometry is exactly the same as the BI geometry...

You might think of using the new version as the hi-res version of the current one.
