Which parts can I author?

If there exists parts, which are very similar to, but not identical to, parts I have authored, can I author those parts even if I don't have them? Not having a part means that I cannot check the physical part for accuracy and would have to rely on online pictures...

I think many of us often do parts based on a single photo.
Add a comment about needing verification against a real part, or better photos.

Hi Peter,
it's a bad idea to ask per PM and to stop PM for receiving! So i use now this way.

I have been not active since some years now, but I remember we had a good practice in dealing with such questions.
It might be in any document written down.

For the part 42236 I am completely fine if you finish the part like you mentioned.

I didn't know there was such a setting. I now searched for it, found it, and changed it to allow PM. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience it caused you, but grateful you made the effort to reach me. Thank you kindly.
