Duplo drawer height

Duplo drawer height

It seems that the duplo drawer 4891 is 2.6 LDU too high compared to physical part. It doesn't fit the 52 LDU slots in cupboards.

Furthermore, the origin seems to be 3 LDU above the part. Can we live with that?

This comes only as 4890 and 4891 combo, right?

or should it fit somewhere else? I could not find a valid combo on BL while quickly browsing through.

Should it fit to the colum (you submitted today) as well?

BI data is 51.5 LDU height compared to 54 in the library.
BI data for the cupboard is 53,75 height

The drawer 4891 should fit 4890 and 87322. The latter is the column I submitted today. The slot height is 52 because the shelves are modeled as 3 LDU thick, which is a little thicker than their physical thickness. According to my digital caliper, the physical slot height is not as much as BI. It ranges from 52.28 to 52.70 LDU.

I submitted a correction where the 4891 is 52 LDU. The corrected height should now fit both.

(The drawer 6471 should fit 6511 and 6462.) 69714 has no height restrictions for drawers.

I think the origin of the drawer is meant to fit the corresponding cupboard.
If you now lower the top surface, and leave the bottom in the same position, the drawer will still not fit the cupboard. It will still be floating above the inside bottom of the cupboard.

Ok, the bottom is lifted, even worse, the bottom surface is now floating even higher above the inside bottom of the cupboard.

Both the top and the bottom of 4890 are off by 1 LDU compared to the physical part. The current measures are also non-standard.

The top should be modeled as 4 LDU, which is slightly less than the 4.5 LDU of the physical part, but 1 LDU more than the current model (3 LDU).

The bottom should be modeled as 16 LDU, which is very close to the physical part (15.8 LDU), but 1 LDU more than the current model (15 LDU).

With these fixes, the slot height becomes 72-16-4 = 52, which is appropriate for the corrected drawer height.

If the 3 LDU offset is due to the top, then it should be increased to 4 LDU.
