A discussion about being colorblind friendly on the PT sparked a discussion about possibly changing icon colors.

I made a quick icon legend for most of the icons on the PT:
https://library.ldraw.org/icons

Lets have a discussion about color palette.

I'd say Admin Certify+Certified either :

Magenta or Yellow

basically color far away from the others.

Agreed, "admin certified" green is too close from "certify" vote green. Using magenta for admin cert would be fine (yellow is not so visible over white background)

Can I make a suggestion? Get a copy of the free app "Color Oracle" (https://colororacle.org/). It lets your screen simulate the effects of the most common types of colour blindness.

We shoudl avoid pink/magenta as those are pretty close to grey

These make it fairly easy to distiguish for me:

I added the color being used for each icon. I also added a link to the tailwind v3 color palette which I will also link here:

https://v3.tailwindcss.com/docs/customizing-colors

While I can use any RGB color, the tailwind colors are the easiest to implement.

So i think we agree on "certify" and "admin certify" being too close.

I think "certify" should stay green, what should "admin certify" change to and what about the "Certified" part status which uses the same color?

Are there any plans for a dark mode to be considered here?
Are the symbols "cutout" with transparent background or with white frame?

No plans for a dark mode

The icons are svgs so the background is transparent.

I think the "Certified" status should also stay green. Maybe "admin certify" could be magenta (sort of a "royal" purple), unless there a gold-like shade of yellow that won't disappear over the background?

Can’t the shapes be changed too?
Put a small ‘A’ in a corner for admin certified for instance.

Not within my capabilities, no.

Thanks for the offer but what I meant was I can't without going to a completely custom icon set which I'm not prepared to do. I'd rather have a ready made icon set that I can choose items from.

Note: If your computer is in dark mode, that site defaults to dark mode, which makes it hard to evaluate colors. However, if this is the case, in the upper right of the page will be a moon icon that you click to then select light mode.

I'm assuming that all the icons come from here. If that is not the case, you can ignore this response.

What about clipboard-check for admin certify and truck-fast for Admin Fast Track? Additionally, I feel that the trash icon is more recognizable as a delete than the recycle icon.
