Add keyword to part

Add keyword to part
#1
Hi all,

I'd like to suggest adding the keyword "cheese" (and/or "cheese slope") to 54200.
And all patterned versions of that piece.

Perhaps to 85984 too?

Thanks.

That would be helpful! I can't count how many times I needed this.

I just needed it yesterday. Tongue

Are there other part "nicknames" we have added, or should? "Erling" for the 1x1 headlight brick, for example?

There are lots of parts that have AFOL nicknames.
In the Netherlands we call the headlight brick a washingmachine ;-) But I think that overdoes it.

The one I use all the time is "jumper" to find the 1x2 plate with one stud in the middle amongst other "jumper" like parts.

If I think of another, I will let it know!

That would be useful indeed! Usually i search for "31" to find those slopes.

Since doing stuff like this is time consuming, to make things go faster, if you (or someone else) send me an archive of 54200 (and 85984 if you wish) and patterns with the keyword added and a history line, I'll submit them to the tracker and fast track.

These need more editing:

Some use "... x 0.667 ..." in their descriptions.
Some have the complete sticker description included. "Sticker" should be moved to the end. Sticker dimension removed.
The new, unofficial part shortcuts are still not edited. Missing the new keyword "cheese".

Why is "x 0.667" omitted from the sticker shortcut descriptions?

I only added the keyword and took no note, nor did I take offence by this.
No clue why 0.667 is missing from some parts, but I think we need to standardize this then, while we are at it with these pieces.
We add 0.667 to all and correct the names for d01 and d02
I do not have acces to my PC atm but can do this later and resubmit.

No need to resubmit. This could be fixed with only header editing.
I wanted to understand, and have consensus on the 0.667 issue.

I guess there is no formal guidance on this like I though.

My interim guidance, as admin, (until we can add something to the spec) is:
Quote:The description for sticker shortcuts should be in the following format:
<base part description> with <sticker description> Sticker

Where:
<base part description> is the description of the base part verbatim
<sticker description> is the sticker description after "Sticker <dimensions>|<shape>"

Example:
Base Part 11477: Slope Brick Curved 2 x 1
Sticker 6142622m: Sticker 1.9 x 0.8 with Black Headlamp on Yellow Background Right
Sticker Shortcut: Slope Brick Curved 2 x 1 with Black Headlamp on Yellow Background Right Sticker

I haven't looked but I'm pretty sure there parts that don't meet this standard. Those still on the PT should be edited by the Header Admins or myself as they are found. Official parts can wait until they are recycled back to the tracker for other reason.

But be aware, any part missing a pattern reference number and set reference needs to be found and have info added as keywords.

Great. And, please, can you add "jumper" keyword to jumper parts, too?

My comment above regarding the amount of time for doing these things applies. As always, you are welcome to send me any correction you wish.

Note: This process will change in the future when the software supports it. That said, I'm well behind where I would like to be in updating said software.

Mea culpa. The keyword is already there, in all parts where it should apply. I just hadn't "Keyword" option set in my LDCad search dialog after switching to the latest LDCad version.

So nothing needs to be done for this.
