I'm actually updating my LEGO Brick Labels to include the most common DUPLO bricks.  I was surprised to see that 61649, the current design of the 2x4x3 Door Frame is not in LDraw. This led me to updating my Most Common LEGO Parts database to output the Most Common DUPLO parts instead.

If you click on the Most Common DUPLO parts article, you will find that very many of the parts are missing photos (because photos are exported from LDraw using a custom script).  This includes parts in the top 20 list!

This suggests that DUPLO has not been a priority for the LDraw community recently, especially given how many fewer DUPLO pieces there are compared to the barrage of one-off pieces added to the LEGO system in recent years (especially in the Collectible Minifigures series.)

Missing Common DUPLO Parts: Is there anyone working on, or interested in working on improved DUPLO coverage? If so, my Most Common DUPLO parts article may help decide which parts to tackle first.

thanks,

Funny you asked now... I am currently on a Duplo trip, as a result of events conjunction: my grandson beeing in Duplo age, and the recent availability of some Duplo 3D shapes in LEGO/Unity microgame!
Yesterday I uploaded several parts from your list: Other recent additions to parts tracker include I was sure that the 4x4 plate was done... but no, I'll do it soon! The bow and the textured bricks are on my todo list as wel!

Yes, very interesting!

Wow, awesome; good timing indeed!  I already updated my script and website to reflect the Part ID's you provided yesterday, and will update again to include these three additional parts!

This brings us up to the 19 most common DUPLO parts (per my analysis)! :-)

Awesome, thanks!

I've updated the Most Common DUPLO parts guide to include the new parts.  It looks like the guide was helpful in picking the next most common parts to create in LDraw.

LDraw now includes the 28 most common parts!

Been following the awesome progress on the Parts Tracker.  I updated my images again, and we've now got images for the 36 most common DUPLO parts!

I did also find this thread relating to the Unity release as a source of part shapes... It looks like a lot of the outstanding common DUPLO parts are there, and just need to be ported, too...

If you look at file header, that's the way I made most of these parts recently:
Code:

29304 Duplo Plate Round 4 x 8 Semi-Circle was missing too, I had to make it from scratch...

This is an interesting list. It would be fun to see a Most UNIQUE LEGO Parts or One-Timers as I expect that most of the parts I author fall in in that category :-)

If I can find a simple way to script removal of printed parts, or map them to their non-printed equivalents, it would be easy enough to include the long tail in my analyses - all the way down to the "least common" parts that only exist in a single set!  (Not sure how to do that in SQL...)

Interesting idea, but we'll see, since that isn't a priority at this time.

Thank you both for the work of porting parts over from Unity, and for the parts you have made from scratch!

It does look like my list of the most common parts has been useful in deciding which order to work in... Earlier today I updated the article with images for parts up to #49 in the list, and I see that you just uploaded the 50th part in the list now - 15580 Duplo Brick 3 x 2 x 2 Slope Shingled.

Sincerely,

P.S. I'm in the middle of writing/photographing a review of the new #10943 DUPLO Happy Childhood Moments set, the first ever Lunar New year set in DUPLO.  It's a tremendous kit, with 2-in-1 models, a great price-per-part under $0.50 for DUPLO, and an opportunity to share globally diverse traditions with our son.

Cool, the 50 most common DUPLO parts are all in the LDraw (unofficial) collection now!  That's great progress—Thank You!

I spent some time last night checking the next batch of missing parts to make sure they aren't in LDraw already before asking for help.  I've cross-referenced with the Unity list, and tried to be clear which ones can be ported vs. created from scratch.

Port From Unity:
  • 31452 - Duplo Ball Tube Straight
  • 31195 - Duplo Ball Tube 45° Turn
  • 24806 - Duplo Camera
  • 18918 - Duplo Cake Swirl Decoration with Top Stud
  • 51703 - Duplo Wave (Fire, Water, Flame) 2 x 1 x 5 with Non-Marbled Tip
  • 14294 / 93150 - Duplo Playground Slide Straight with Two Top Studs (I need to update my database to reflect 14294)
  • 27383 - Duplo Cone / Ice Cup
  • 16686 - Duplo Plate 2 x 5 with 8 Studs and Hinge
  • 16375 - Duplo Building Roof Spire 3 x 3 x 3
  • 16265 - Duplo Wrench with Handles
  • 20302 - Duplo Suitcase / Bag
  • 31042 - Duplo Kettle with Closed Handles 2 x 2 x 1.5
  • 16685 - Duplo Brick 1 x 4 x 2 with 2 Top Cutouts (Arrow Slits)
  • 26249 - Duplo Door / Window
  • 35132 / 31170 - Duplo Roofpiece Slope 33 4 x 4 with Awning Overhang with 9 Bottom Tubes (Need to update my database to 35132)
  • 11197 - Duplo Brick 2 x 6 x 2 Curved with 2 x 2 Cutout on Bottom

Create from Scratch:
  • 12592 / 35025 - Duplo Plate 2 x 4 w/ Wheels
  • 51269 - Duplo Shovel / Spade with ‘D’ Handle
  • 15319 / 24911 - Duplo Wheelbase 4 x 8 w/ Wheels
  • 11970 / 35026 - Duplo Wheelbase 2 x 6 w/ Wheels
  • 13355 - Duplo Plate 2 x 3 with 4 Studs and Hinge
(I've included all the missing parts in quantities 12+ from my analysis, which works out to the top 80 most common DUPLO parts.)

Cheers,

here's a new one, I now have 3 out of the 4 duplo tires, but the one I dont have is already in ldraw Smile

Its part ID is 31352

This one has quite a deep tread:

https://bricksafe.com/files/snipe/6672/2...40x288.jpg
https://bricksafe.com/files/snipe/6672/2...40x288.jpg

The width is just a hair larger than 2 bricks and 2 plates.
The diameter at the edge (not the centre) is a little smaller than the inside of a 6x6 dish (I can do better measurments if needed).
And the inner diameter is exactually 4L as you can see because 4x4 round panels fit inside.
I also added four 4x4 round plates and stacked another tyre on and it is about 2mm shy.
The outer diameter at the centre of the wheel will be slightly more since it is balloon-ed a little.

Suprisingly this was the only duplo tyre (31352) that is on lego bricks and pieces in stock, the other two I got from bricklink
