Disregard. Things are working now. Somehow the preference set got switched to 'Quality'.

Not sure what the original problem was. but you might also need to keep in mind modern Graphic cards are currently mostly pushing shader speed which is something that won't help much in regards of speeding up high polygon scenes like datsville.

The boost in performance is quite noticable in LDCad though. Don't know why this is less of a case in LDView.
