Silent Install

Silent Install
#1
Good Afternoon,

I am a network administrator attempting to create a silent install for your LDraw program. However, I have used all the command switches for .exe and .msi to no avail. I also researched the install builder "SetupFactory" and none of their switches worked on your .exe either. The WiKi on LDraw does not have anything that I could find on an Silent/Unattended Install.

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Thank you.

What exactly are you trying to install?
The LDraw All-In-One-Installer from http://www.ldraw.org/Downloads-req-getit-lid-111.html,
the LDraw Parts Library from http://www.ldraw.org/Downloads-req-getit-lid-92.html, or something else?

If by "silent" you want to run these without any user input, then I'm not sure that is going to be possible. AFAIK, both require either license acknowledgement and/or install option selection.

The original LDraw program (ldraw.exe) itself is a DOS-only program and has been superceded by more contemporary image rendering tools. Unless you are running a very old OS, you don't really want that.

Thank you for the reply,

I am attemping to run the All-in-One-Installer in a Windows XP Pro environment.. I dont know what options were built into the installer, as some will allow a "/license accept" switch. No command switchs at all have worked, /S, /s, /Q, /q, -s, -q as examples.

Looking at your response I am to assume that I must manually install this on 50 computers. I of course would use some other deployment method, however, my security does not allow this. Only the every impossible to reach Domain Admins can. lol

Thank you Willy, that is greatly appreciated.

LDraw will be used in a AutoCAD classroom for advanced students. The instructor is very excited to start using this program. Any help is very much appreciated.
