That's actually an interesting question. I personally position everything 'semi-neutral'. I position individual parts like they are shown in the instructions/images, but I position all submodels neutral. If that makes sense...
Anyway, it's an interesting question. But, in my opinion it doesn't matter that much as long as it's easy to change the position by using submodels.
