I there any working way to atach bitmap to Ldraw parts? Specifically for minifigs. There are almost all bitmaps from Minifigs series in LDD. I extract them from it, but i am thinking about attaching them to ldraw parts.

The TEXMAP extension allows that, but it has not yet been approved for use in official parts. Also, tool support for this extension is at this point limited.

What you need is an orthographic camera lens!

I thought it was approved, but that technical issues (eg. on Parts Tracker) made that impossible to use now?
My most complete work using texmap: http://forums.ldraw.org/showthread.php?t...58#pid9858
Attached a test head with an LDD texmap. As you can see result is crappy due to poor LDD image resolution.

I had thought it was also, but the official part restrictions document doesn't list it as an accepted meta. Maybe we approved it, but then didn't update the document. I'll have to look.

If I remember well, LDView doesn't export TEXMAP to Pov - Travis, can you comment on this?
...and otherwise, question is spelled "question", not "quastion" Wink

You are correct. That was, in fact, one of the features I wanted to get into the official 4.2 release, but it's not something I have done, even in my own development code.

It would probably be better if you ask this on the POV-Ray newsgroup.

http://news.povray.org/groups/

They are much more well-versed in the subject.
