There shouldn't be a need to search at all.

The current location of the installed POV-Ray can be found via the registry:
HKCU\Software\POV-Ray\CurrentVersion\Windows\Home

(It's been a while since I installed POV-Ray, so the location may be slightly different if installed for All Users etc.)
