I'm not an expert in MyBB platform, but I know that it is a pretty oldschool forum platform - which to be clear, I do not mind at all! It absolutely works well for this group.
That said, the ability to react to posts has become widespread on various platforms including slack, teams, facebook and others. I do think that this would be a nice thing to allow peopel to do, since it is a way for people to interact in a low-friction way without polluting the conversation with 'me too' style responses. A good example is in this thread where I want to give a thumbs up to folks who contribute positively to the effort without replying to each new part with a 'thank you' message.
I have not looked into it closely, but I think this plugin would be a good fit for this use case.
